Title: Cardiff v Rovers
Post by: MrFrost on September 09, 2011, 12:37:20 pm
Hoping for a draw at best.

1-1
Hayter

Not got a clue with this one. Could go either way and probably will at different stages of the game.

Wouldn't bet against Hayter scoring again.

With JOC back in back four and if he starts with Lalkovic up there with Hayter then let's take those 3 points. About time we won there.

Thought initially a draw but if for once SO'D goes for it ........a 2-0 win to the Rovers .
It's our time.

Not the best of starts - Cardiff hitting the woodwork twice in the first 2 minutes

Come on Rovers get a grip!

both cannot be ready yet we do not want to rush them back. Lalkovic played last Saturday and Tuesday both 90mins then travelled back to Doncaster maybe did not train until Thursday or not.

0-0 at half time.
Lets hope we don't have our usual second half collapse.

Cardiff had one shot on target and that was blocked by Richard Naylor so Gary Woods has not made a save yet????

Hence the reason why the score is still 0-0 ;)

Changes during the game have put us in with a real chance here. A flat back 4 with Muzzy going wherever he wants, pull off Copps who is not quite fit yet and allow Lalkovic to go up with Hayter. Muzzy, Bennet and Lalkovic with the speed, Hayter with the brain and Gillet and Oster pulling the strings.......it might happen yet!
Title: Re: Cardiff v Rovers
Post by: MrFrost on September 10, 2011, 03:09:44 pm
Lalkovic on for Naylor
Title: Re: Cardiff v Rovers
Post by: glosterred on September 10, 2011, 03:10:03 pm
Again a poor start - 2 early chances for Cardiff and not taken (thankfully)
Title: Re: Cardiff v Rovers

Milan on for Naylor and Gary Woods makes TWO saves.

Woods saves :) Back post header again.

Think will be much more open this half, hope woods has his game to show us what he's made of.

Too much tea at half time I think from that first couple of mins
Title: Re: Cardiff v Rovers
Post by: Barmby Rover on September 10, 2011, 03:12:53 pm
Muzzy goes back 4 and Copps in the wandering role, Lalkovic target and hayetr working off him. Going for a win!

Presumably Naylor has felt his knee again, as soon as he goes off we concede! I can`t see us getting anything now balls into the box are few and far between and of poor quality!
Title: Re: Cardiff v Rovers
Post by: Barmby Rover on September 10, 2011, 03:25:11 pm
Is there an obligation to play Lalkovic EVERY match as part of his loan? Forced change from the first half possibly, weakening the back with the chance to win after seeing the first half performance? Who knows.

Whichever way you look at it, it can`t carry on, or relegation is a certainty this season!

the only ones that matter at the moment are the six games without a win this season

1 point from as possible 18 is very poor

1st Jan league table.
Rovers were 13th but only 3 points from play-offs with game in hand!
What a difference.

And now it's 2-0

There's always a silver lining....it is the only time Wellred, Benaldo etc are happy is when we are losing.
Title: Re: Cardiff v Rovers
Post by: ScillyRover on September 10, 2011, 03:41:17 pm
The more defeats the players suffer and the confidence will just drain away.
That's when it gets really difficult.
One thing I have always had doubts about SOD perhaps is his inability to motivate.
Title: Re: Cardiff v Rovers
Post by: andysly on September 10, 2011, 03:42:53 pm
Even though Reading are losing at home to Watford I don't fancy our chances there either.
Confidence must be shot, 1 win in 20 games and that against Tranmere, you can see heads drop everytime we concede like the writings on the wall and sounds same story today.

Get real, no one is happy when we are losing, some folk want to look past the Rovers tint, the facts are we are still defensively poor with a poor keeper and we don`t create enough in the box! with that combination we are heading League 1 way fast!

The biggest problem we have is we are a small team these days, the crowds never came to the Keepmoat as was hoped. I like critcism, but if its not constructive, why not just kick the cat.

Title: Re: Cardiff v Rovers

Thankfully that is over and done with without it getting out of hand and us conceding to many. Looked good at half time - second half we did not get out of the changing rooms. Poor defending for the first and after that we had little or nothing to offer.

Another of our problems, every team we play seems able to up the tempo, we remain one paced and predictable!
