I didn't know until the other day that if you have been off work long term sick, and are in the USDAW that as long as you have no gaps in your subs there is something called a sickness grant. I wonder if other unions have the same scheme?
Basically, if you are a full time worker you get one off payments of £30 at six weeks, £100 at twenty weeks £75 at 40 weeks and finally £100 at fifty two weeks. You have to have been a member for at least a year.
