Bought this MP3 player for Christmas for my Daughter a little over a month ago from Argos.....
http://www.ingodevices.net/detalle.php?recordID=42&marca=Hello%20Kitty&familia=
I have tried testing it a couple of days ago, however, there is no software disc (not needed apparently) and my Windows 7 PC states \"No Compatible Driver Found\", I have tried all suggestions that Windows Help gives with no joy.
...Because I cant find my receipt, Argos will not take it back or issue a replacement....really nice of them I know.
Anyone know how I can find a 'fix'/ Website for for the Device to get hold of a Driver?

Did you pay cash,or on a card?
You can prove it on a card.

Cash (my daughters gran paid for it).
Managed to get the PC to recognise the device/ player....then when I disconnected it and reconnected it would not.
At one stage I managed to get some MP3 Format tracks on it which would play when connected to the PC but not as soon as I disconnected.
God knows whats going on.

dont know if this helps ...
on left of web page is technical service, click here then downloads and enter product ref. to download software.

Is there nothing on the packaging that identifies as being an Argos product? They often have stickers with their catalogue number attached.
Other than that kick up a fuss and tell them that you're going to Trading Standards to report them for selling products that are not fit for purpose.
I can't believe they'll not just replace it, all they'll do is send it back to the supplier for credit.

Acording to the manuel, you don't need a driver. Have you fully charged the battery? Is your music mp3 or wma format?
Failing that phone the tech number on the manuel or try someone elses computer with a different windows.

Charged it for 8 hours via a mains socket before doing anything else.
As for the phone number, worryingly it is a dead line! Plus it doesnt works on a relatives PC either!
The Tech support on their web page has nothing but a Download of the Manual - all I can advise is that no one buys one of these.
I'll go back to the Argos on Wheatley Hall Rd failing any further advice...though I must admit the staff/ management there seem nothing short of a bunch of rude, unhelpful jobsworths who need some intense customer service training.

Just refuse to leave the store until they resolve the matter. Ask them if they have heard of the sale of goods act.

You still have to prove that they sold it to him. That's the problem.

The packaging does have the Argos Catalogue Code stuck on the back of it...So Im hoping if they have a reasonable member of staff behind the desk on Saturday that they'll do a straight exchange.

I would suggest the Argos label could be proof of purchase,
\"If the item is damaged, the shop cannot say they will only refund on the basis of a till receipt. However you must have proof of purchase of some kind – particularly if it was bought recently and you want to show that the damage wasn’t caused by continued use or wear and tear over time.\"

It might be worth a quick phone call to the number on that site so you can go in fully armed so to speak

According to This (http://www.gameseek.co.uk/pd/Multircqvx5qj830/Hello_Kitty_Silhouette_2GB_MP3_Player) on gameseek, it should come with a CD with the relative driver software.
This is from the manual found on the link you provided:
Thank you for your purchase of this MP3 player. Now you can carry your music around in this MP3. Read this manual before using your player and keep it for future reference. Complete manual is included on CD-driver of the MP3.
That sounds to me that it should come with a CD containing the drivers, and the next problem is I can't find it anywhere on Argos online...

Well....here's the final result.
Returned to Wheatley Hall Rd Argos who flatly refused to exhange/ refund/ replace.
Just on a whim went into the town Argos and the Duty manager there could not believe the way We'd been treated, rang the Wheatley store whilst I was there and phyically made their manager apologise to me.
The Argos in town replaced like for like and gave me a £20 voucher for being screwed about....turns out I was initially given a first generation of that MP3 player which had a known defect - the one I have now is Version 2 (though is identical).
Wheatley Hall Rd will never get my business again - though Im really impressed with how the Town store dealt with the issue.

Good result ...eventually
Sounds like the Wheatley Hall Road branch need a few lessons in consumer law and at the very least customer service/company policy

Does the new one work?
-
Does the new one work?
Yep. Plugged it in via the USB, downloaded all the drivers itself via Firmware and up and running.
Cannot believe the different levels of service in two stores from the same company though - goes to show what attitudes / opinions of staff can lead to.

Que?
Slow on the uptake for this one, sorry. I just imagined that whole response in broken Spanglish.
