How much!?
Does it come with a huge library of specialist pornography?
-
I'm looking for £225 ono for it but would be prepared to accept a little bit lower for it. Its in good condition as well and payed £500 to have it all done 2 year ago. And no it doesn't LOL.
-
Any other specs? Considering I could get a brand new system with a 500GB hard drive for the same price, it seems very expensive!
-
Maxtor 120GB hard drive
ASUS Motherboard model no. A8V-VM
Processor model no. PSN-355PC
Needs windows vista activating on it
Twin fans
Any offers be forthcoming though if anyones intersted ??

I stand to be corrected but the \"PSN-355PC\" is a power supply.
The motherboard is socket 939 too, which is AMD only and probably an 64x2 or something similar and 120Gb hard drive sounds particularly stingy of DCS.
Sorry, geek OCD has been satisfied. ;)

What speed is the processor?
How much RAM is there?
What size is the monitor?
-
monitor is 15 inch
speed of it not sure but has 3500 on it which maybe means 3.5ghz
RAM is 512 memory
not an expert on computers tbh
Forgot to mention it also has external speakers with it as well

For the spec you have quoted I personally would not pay £225 for it. A quarter of that figure is more likely.

You paid £500 for that two years ago? You were done. The only thing left to top it all now would be for you to say it's an un-upgradable Dell slab.

Ouch. :pinch:

Crikey, could you be any more cruel!
Have to agree though. A quick squint on ebay shows there are better specced AMD 64x2's by HP (ie no shoddy DCS built quality) for £65-£75. Add to that you haven't got a proper operating system (even if you could activate Vista) you'll be lucky to get £50.
I deal with Dell's day in, day out and have no trouble upgrading them though....
:(

It must be at least eight years since I had a PC with as little RAM as 512MB and only 120GB hard drive.
And I build my PCs from stuff that's just gone slightly out-of-date so the price has just had that first big drop...

I was trying to be tactful!

They used to make PCs that couldn't have the motherboard, processor, hard-drive, optical drive(s) or the RAM individually upgraded - if you wanted a better spec you had to buy a whole new computer.
They might be different now but they gave themselves such a bad name with me because of how they stiffed so many of the uninformed with the un-upgradable slabs (and then stiffed a second level of the uninformed who bought them second-hand when the first buyers realised what dogs they'd got on their hands) that I've ignored them for years. I'll never touch a Dell.
-
Ill accept £125 for it with accessories. just want rid of it to be honest lol

Jeez, that's going back a few years. They've not been like that since the GX270/280 days. I've replaced practically every component in them and the motherboard is the only thing that is still proprietry, but apart from getting new backplates it causes no extra hassles. Having seen different places with corporate contracts with HP and Fujitsu, the Dells are far better built with much better warranties.

Can you fit generic upgrades in them these days?

In the last six months I've replaced a PSU, video card and numerous DVD drives. Have upgraded the memory on countless ones with generic ram, just use to converter on Crucials or Kingstons website to find out what type you should fit for the model.
The only real problem with them is that the Small Form Factor ones require specific parts mostly to fit in the cases. But if you buy a tower'd PC then you shouldn't have many problems. We have over 600 Dell PC's ranging from GX270's (don't get these!), thru 745's, 760's and 780's to the new desktop Optiplex 790's. The laptops take generic Ram and Hard drives too.
