Seems Copps will be out for the rest of the season. Gutted

I'd be very suprised if he was. Fractured cheekbone is usually 6 weeks, although I see Frimpong might be looking at 3 months.

Will be a big miss :(

I think the surgery and recovery time is what adds to the length of time he'll be out, though. I agree, a simple fracture not requiring surgery would be about 6 weeks and I was surprised wwhen Saunders said Copps would be out for the season. Of course, Saunders probably had the benefit of the physio and the club doctor's opinion, something I didn't.
As for Frimpong, my guess is that there's damage to the eye socket, which is a nasty one and will have him out for some time.

I don't know why we're looking at legal action. Surely the first recourse is to provide the FA with video evidence so they can charge the player concerned. He wasn't dealt with by the referee.

Exactly right - although it wont do us any good = but there does not seem to be any evidence so unlike Balotelli it looks like this guy will \"get away with it ****\"
**** Of course with evidence the FA may not have taken any further action anyway as with Lescott who looked guilty to me for sure

Answering my own question above it appears from other threads on here that Bristol City have this incident on their equivalent of DROS. You need to register etc
Can someone copy it and paste here or via YouTube please
It needs to be \"captured\" just in case !

Do you have to be a Player subscriber to watch the clip? or has it been removed?

I broke my cheekbone/Jaw a few years ago during a game of 5-a-side football, I had an operation to correct the mis-alignment of the jaw at the end of that November. I went to the doctors to extend my sick-note to carry it over the christmas holidays and the doctor told me to get back to work because Peter Beardsley had got back on the football pitch just a week after his surgery with his plastic mask as protection.

Thanks for that - I have seen it and is FAR FAR FAR FAR FAR worse than Elokobis challenge Rovers v Wolves on Copps and the bloke should have been OFF
In answer to the question which Player deserved a Red Card I am of the opinion that both the Brizzle and Habib Beye should have seen RED

Having seen the clips now I agree- both were dangerous challenges which endangered the safety of the opponent. Both red cards for me.
