Well said JR- Certain people and you know who you are should be ashamed of yourselves- Lets unite behind JR. Those of us who love JR and the club who are the vast majority need to show him what he means to us
:rtid:
-
I love and respect the man for what he's done for us as I do all those that spend their hard-earned supporting the club.
However all this fawning is getting a tad embarrassing.
-
Embarrassing?? Why should he just keep quiet and accept all this negative nonsense thrown at him. If you've seen him recently he looks a different man, looks ill. And reading this forum must be awful for him.
Maybe he shouldn't read it I don't think I would, but he obviously does so think we should take that into consideration when posting
Some of the post this week with regards coppinger incident were a disgrace
-
Agreed
-
I'm just hoping to god that there isn't more to this than meets the eye, because if a story comes out that it isn't down to the moaning whatsoever, then JR's interview last night will have caused havoc for no reason.
I just can't help but feel sorry for the man, but turning fans against each other isn't going to help the situation surely?
-
He hasn't turned fans against each other.. People have their opinions and they have done all season long. All this has done is made it sobering, the fact that he reads this forum and takes it to heart..
-

And that has lead to people to take it in their own hands on who to blame, is he talking about the moaning that appeared when we came into the championship? the moaning before SOD was long gone? The moaning about the new statergy? We don't know that and yet people are blatantly accusing and abusing individuals, look at madmick for example he has been on this forum for what 3 months? That's supposedly after Bramall stop funding the club, so how on earth is the abuse he was getting on the four directors resign thread justified?
This is not me blaming John Ryan for anything this is me saying that I hope what he said is the real reason because if something has gone off above board we don't know about he comments yesterday were unnecessary. However I do feel sorry for the man, he has handled this alot better than I would and being human he is only reacting naturally.
He is still our saviour and in my eyes the best thing ever to happen to Doncaster Rovers (or any other football club)!
-
Completely agree. He's so right! Stand up or shut up! Simple as. Stop criticising him for what he's doing! f**ks me right off that people slate him when he does something. I feel so sorry for JR, put's all his love and enthusiasm into our club and get's some right shit back from fans

In the interview he said he himself and the other board members were getting sick and tired of the constant criticism they receive, when they're doing their best.
Can only presume he's talking about this forum cause it's the only place people's feelings are vented.
And he also said over the last 5 months so I think it's pretty conclusive that he's talking about the criticism he's received since sod left, and I got the feeling he was very upset with people's attitude towards his stance over the coppinger tackle, which he obviously discovered on here

dickos the 'embarrassing' was not referring to JR himself, believe me he knows really what support there is out there for him but thread after thread is not needed surely. ;)
-
I hope your right hoola, but for him to have considered his position he must have his doubts..

JR has always talked from the heart before thinking it through and we all know he makes the occasional gaff but I very much doubt that any criticism on this forum lead to the resignations directly. I admit it may have been a catalyst but it would never make these 4 take the steps they have on it's own.
It was well known that TB was not upto putting any more money into the club and the illness of DW probably brought about not only his resignation but that of his children also.
It's time for everyone to stop 'beating each other around the head' and shovelling blame around. There may be other reasons .

The recent vituperative venom and vitriol spewed by the likes of Madmick – a sad showboater who only posts to get a response -- has made me sick to my stomach. The moderators should have deleted and banned him, along with several others.
The negative posters' arguments about opinions and free speech, and having the right to express their eccentric opinions on here, are utter b*llocks. There are libel and slander laws, and you can't shout FIRE in a crowded cinema -- there are consequences.
However, while criticizing the mods for not deleting their inflammatory bile, let me say here what a commendable job they and the VSC do overall.
All criticism should be balanced and constructive – but what I was reading on this forum before I stepped away for a while, was just crass criticism against people who pour their personal wealth into probably the smallest, most unfashionable club in D2.
Why can't you just express delight in our opponents being devastated by defeat against the 'likes of Doncaster' -- and glean pleasure in JR, and his love for the club. However, we could now be faced with the reality that JR will step away soon.
Most on here cannot remember the 1970s and 1980s. Even our relative successes in the early mid 70s, could not lift BV gates to above 3,000 -- then came the 90s and the Richardson Rape.
What has happened at the club I love in the 21st century has been nothing short of a minor miracle, but still people like 'Frosty' continue to spout crap about our poor support, and the expense of tickets, spouting nonsense not grounded in any economic or social reality.
Frosty, and you other showboaters and keyboard warriors, go now onto Iplayer and checkout the latest edition of BBC Northeast's Late Kick off, and view the economic realities of Hartlepool United and Darlington -- two clubs similar to us, clubs which I care a lot about, having visited endless times to Feethams and the Victoria Ground to watch Rovers.
In that context, the McKay experiment has been innovative, brave and groundbreaking. Thanks Willie, and thanks JR. Many more clubs will follow this model in years to come. I just hope we, DRFC, can continue to watch other FL clubs progress with this model, as a fellow FL club -- not as a Conference club such as the likes of Lincoln, Grimsby and York, who are all Rovers historic contemporaries.
Thanks once more JR, and thanks so much Willie. Ours is a special, unique club and it's warming that you share my love for it.

Superb post Alonzo and about sums it up for me. I'm still not entirely convinced on the McKay strategy but I do know he's doing it for the right reasons and it's all we've got at present.
Where have you been AD btw ?

Hope it doesnt get to a downward spiral. We need to realise quickly what we have now compared to the club in the past

great post Alonzo, i hope the muppets read that.

Aye, great post Alonzo. I said it recently that I am not the most positive person on this earth, but some on here can do nothing but whinge and gripe, often with no reason to, or other constructive ideas to pitch, and I am sick to death of it. If I am sick of it then imagine how John must feel.
What John has to realise though is that it *is* only a small handful of people. Shame others can't often be heard over them though.
-
spot on alonzo, some of the negative comments on here are unbelievable.the rovers do very well to say the gates we command.people should look at other clubs and see some of the jokers they have for directors.we are indeed fortunate,::(

Sounds like a plan- I'm in.
Everybody up on their feet singing \"There's Only One John Ryan\" five minutes into the game, whether we're winning, losing or drawing at the time.

That would be great  Starting with 5 minutes on the clock and standing up for 5 mins.
No matter how we are doing on the pitch, it will also lift the lads as well as JR.
Oh yeah, and spot on post Alonzo :scarf:

Sounds like we have a plan 5 mins then 5 min break then another 5 mins and so on
Maybe one John Ryan
Then rovers till I die
Etc etc

The recent vituperative venom and vitriol spewed by the likes of Alonzo Drake – a sad fantasist who only posts to slag others off -- hasn't made me sick to my stomach. The moderators should have deleted and banned him, along with several others.
The overly optimistic posters' arguments about opinions and free speech, and having the right to express their eccentric opinions on here, are utter b*llocks. There are libel and slander laws, and you can't shout FIRE in a crowded cinema (unless there is a fire) -- there are consequences.
However, while criticizing the mods for not deleting their inflammatory bile, let me say here what a commendable job the VSC do in putting forward the line the club wants them to.
All criticism should be balanced and constructive – but what I was reading on this forum before I stepped away for a while, was just crass criticism against people who put the opposite view to the club line.

Alonso,s post was spot on you,ll find 99percent agree with it in its entirity ,
then theres you .You are what pisses jr off .Do you get some kind of giggle out of posting that ?
Your post should be removed and yourself for that matter :headbang:

Alonso,s post was spot on you,ll find 99percent agree with it in its entirity ,
I disagree with you one million per cent. I think you have taken the art of exaggeration to new levels. If you'd said 9.9 per cent then maybe I could have taken what you said a bit more seriously. Hundreds have read my post and only two have criticised it. I rest my case.

just because posters don`t comment on the shite you post does n`t mean they agree with you, take it from me I have pm`s complaining about you almost daily, I get pm`s telling me that they no longer post on this forum because of your incessant crap. take your head out of your arse!

\"I disagree with you one million per cent. I think you have taken the art of exaggeration to new levels.\"
 I'm sure he must have meant that!
TBH though, to use a bit of critism from persons unknown as an excuse for resigning is a bit lame really.
