Title: Rovers v Birmingham
Post by: Bristol Red Rover on March 30, 2012, 12:20:03 am
Nowt like a match to galvanise what this is all about. Would love to see this game, think it'll be a classic, a performance with the spirit of Tuesday and I fancy us to take the three points. Djiouf will definitely get one of ours. It'll be end to end and god will ultimately smile on his team in his town in his country - but do keep up with the praying folks.

1-0 Rovers, Diouf. out of interest, is you adding a j into his name an inside joke or something? :P

I think 2-1 rovers Freddie with the first, a goal mouth scramble for brum, then just before he is subbed Robert takes on three of the brum defence and pops it the bottom corner

We then have to hold out for 20 mins but we do and the relief is felt around the ground and you can see in the players faces that we can stay up

I`m in a mad mood but i`ll go for John Oster to score, mad I know but after hitting the target when he aimed at Daggers the other week, I feel the time is ripe for him to have an attempt at the onion bag, we`ve been waiting all season John, don`t let us down!

The last time we took any points off Brum was 8 games ago on 17th April '54 when we beat them 1-0 at their place. In the home game that season on 14th Nov we beat them 3-1 taking us to the top of the old 2nd Division after 18 games - our highest ever position, and the very last time we reached that I believe (after more than a couple of games). Anyone know who scored for us in these games?

Our record for the 30th March is W8 D3 L5. That includes a win over Liverpool and a loss against Chester. Biggest win was 5-1 and biggest loss 4-0.

Their record on this day is W8 D5 L8.

Then there's the 12-0 they beat us by that we owe them for.

Nobody expected us to get anything from Reading or West Ham (nobody being \"outsiders\" before you jump on that one) and look at that.

Time for Saunders to earn his crust. Options on the bench, just a pity we can't defend for toffee.

Our last three wins come over a period of roughly 13 weeks.

I truly admire your optimism. But I'm a realist. Regretably, we are as good as down.
