If you`ve got a blocked drain and you own a Karcher pressure washer, get yersen one of these bad boys http://www.espares.co.uk/drain-cleaning-kit
OK it`s £62 but it beats the £100`s you`d pay a drain cleaning company, and it`s yours for next time, I used one I bought for the first time yesterday and it sorted the full blown blockage out in 10 minutes, a fantastic piece of kit and well worth it

Many thanks for that Filo
What a refreshing change for the "Off topic threads" .... a useful thread about SHIT rather than the SHIT threads we have been enduring lately re Bob Diamond (for one)

At the risk of sounding dreadfully grim, I've always found blocked drains fascinating....And sooty chimneys..
Not so keen on blocked toilets or the Bob Diamond thread mind you... ;)

Before you go spending money on anything regarding blocked drains ensure the blockage is yours and not a shared drain.......

October 2011 Water Companies took responsibilty for ALL shared domestic drains, and ALL domestic drains once they leave your property curtilage (boundary).
Problem with small diameter jetting heads, (on this piece of kit), is the potential for getting them lodged in displaced pipework (incidentally a key cause of blocked drains) - get it stuck in your own drain equals time consuming or costly repair, get it stuck in the Water Authorities equals a repair by them via their contractors and likely recharge to yourself.
Of course, and reasonable Water Authority, given the legislation passed last October, will likely come and check the status and legal responsibility of any blockage on your property.
