Nothing received Rovers wise.
I got Whisky, Bourbon, chocolate, hats, jumpers, CK pyjama bottoms, 2 bottles of real ale!!!
The day was traditional. Kids were chuffed. Pub at dinner for the menfolk (Sun Inn this year and lots of travellers in there). Big dinner at the outlaws. Big sleep and then home where me and Mrs CR open our presents.
The days after have been lots of different nuts, crisps, cheeses, crackers and pork pie.
On the Real Ale front, I got a few shots fired across my bow from the elbow leather patched ones, for daring to stereotype them in jest. Must say you bearded wonders, I've drank Bombardier and ????? Finger over Xmas as well as Jennings in the Sun Inn and I'm starting to get the taste. When we were in The Lakes in the Summer I spent a weekend on the stuff and enjoyed it.

Big debate kicked off Boxing Day regarding the pork pie. I absolutely feel it is one of the lesser components of a buffet.
Sausage roll, pickled onions, scotch eggs, cheese on sticks and breadsticks all 100% far more important on a buffet than the over-rated pork pie.
And don't get me started on quiche.
-
Sausage rolls and them little hot dog stick things are the only real parts of a buffet. Then you just lob other cold stuff and some cakes on after.
-
The element of a cheese/onion/pineapple hedgehog is wasted on a buffet table of the new generation. My youngest and her friends thought I was losing my mind during the process of its creation... Still, it was the thing that went first (Although I did put one or two cocktail sausages in the mix).
Sadly the prawn vol-au-vent was absent for a 4th year running!
-
Putting breadsticks above the pork pie? There's some strange folk out there! I'll freely admit to never getting the pineapple/cheese/onion thing either. At least you can pull the pineapple off and skewer more bits of cheese and onion, though.
Got a nice book for Christmas, the Rovers Miscellany, plenty of Rovers-related facts and trivia going back to the turn of the century. Fascinating stuff although I'm sure most of it is already known to many on here, and it was written at the start of last season so it's not entirely up to date. Still a great bit of light reading about all things Rovers.

Scotch Eggs are the work of the devil. Yeuch!

Real Ale
Thanks DW it was indeed that ale. I had a Bishops Finger and I've never been in the choir. I have to say I enjoyed a Bishops Finger and never thought I would, so as they say in Poland, don't knock it til you try it.
Pork Pies
Crikey Charlie Boys, you need to try the Melton Mowbray ones, normal and flavoured.......... and bang them in the microwave for 30secs and add a brown sauce reduction. I once got told about that jelly shit that seperates the meat? from the crust.
Xmas Presents for Mrs CR
Pyjamas, Dressing Gown, Pandora Charm and I've let her buy an iPad (that bad boy proper rocks to be honest). To finish the night off I gave her yet another multiple orgasm. To be honest girls, I'm getting bored of giving them out. So if you're feeling like you need a lift and a splash, shout me a holler

I won't ask which gift she liked best..lol.
I'm rather suprised that you didn't say you gave her a multiple stranded pearl necklace tho..... Hope you aren't slipping Cussie.. ;)

Pork pie a lesser component?
You've obviously never tried a Stephenson's of Wortley pork pie ( apologies but it's just over the road from where I live, in Leeds )
They beat Toppings hands down

Don't ever drink Shepard Neame bitter by the pint always have a "light and Bitter" (bottle of light ale and half of bitter) believe me the consequences of supping Master Brew by the pint puts Sam Smiths to shame the following morning :ermm:
