Title: Watford
Post by: GazLaz on December 30, 2012, 09:20:09 am
Is what Watford have done by bringing in 12 loanees in from Italy this year any different to what we did last year? Seems to be working for them too.

Yes it is a lot different, the players Watford have are actually good, and the system isn't based on lining an agents pockets.

I'm sure no agents will profit from any of the deals.

And we made a big song and dance of it, what we did isn't dissimilar to normal loaning or using out of contract players.

They've brought in young, talented players. We didn't. Let's face it, aside from maybe Diouf, most of them were very average or very shit.

Their owners own the clubs that all these loanees are coming from. It's in their best interests to make sure Watford get talented youngsters who are playing well. That's a big difference to what we did, which was sign a bunch of misfits in the hope that acting as a shop window would get them wanting to play for us.
