Does anyone have any idea on how many tickets have been sold? The Keepmoat site hasn't been updated with any sort of figure.
Hoping its a sell-out! :rtid:
-
Anyone any idea why I cant buy tickets online for the Sheff Utd game? All the other games are on there.
-
It's to stop sheff utd fans getting them in home end
-
If we can't pack the Keepmoat for this game then we need to give up. Local derby and in form.
-
If we win, then I think people will really sit up and take notice of us as promotion contenders. Attendances for the rest of the season could be up if we hook a few casual fans in from this game.
-
Prediction .... 13800
-
Prediction 13,582 and a 2-0 win Cotts and Pointer to score.
-
Who's Pointer have we got a new player I don't know about?
-
Doncaster Rovers FC @drfc_official
Ticket sales at 11,173. Please note the ticket office closes at 1pm today (Monday)
-
Just bought my ticket over the phone at 11.00 am. Ticket lady says we have sold just over 11,000 and the Blades have sold 4,200. I thought capacity for the KM was 15,300, so must be selling the last few available.
-
That 11,000 includes the away tickets
-
That 11,000 includes the away tickets
Disappointing then that means only c.6800 home supporters currently , where have all our supporters gone to ..............that can't be right surely ? Ok there will always be those wanting to pay on the day but usually no more than a 200 or so :(
I'm gutted!!
-
It's the way they have been made so difficult to buy unless you live opposite the ticket office. In order to prevent Sheff United fans buying tickets in the home end, ( apparently, and according to the club spokesman Mr Frost)they closed the online purchasing facility for this game . Absolutely ridiculous decision.
-
Proves the level of interest is not there and we are not likely to get the fans back that we have lost over the last few years.
-
Jenny, maybe I misunderstood, but the lady did say "We have sold 11,000, and the Blades have sold 4,200", so I understood that to mean A+B =C.

It isn't hard to buy a ticket at all. You can phone them. Turn up on the day and buy one. What's hard about that. The numbers of those buying online will be minuscule and not directly effecting the attendance significantly.
-
Hello Mr Frost. What is hard about it? Well try getting through on the phone .Most businesses struggling for sales in today's harsh economic climate use every means available to sell including the most popular facility, online ticketing . Also poor information and disinformation, like this thread in which it is stated the ticket office closes today at 1 pm. Is that OFFICIAL does it include PHONE lines .
The fact is not that the public is not interested in a resurgent Rovers ,more that the resurgent Rovers and the new management is not yet on top of this front line issue.

Actually what it proves is that NYD isn't a huge interest football crowd wise (largely due to the night before's drinking and the nightmare getting there). We've been at home the last two years and had 11k against Barnsley and 9.5k against Scunny proving that actually the home attendance will likely be about the same as the last 2 years.
-
I'd put a lot of money on online sales not being the most popular means of purchase for Rovers tickets.
Have you tried phoning for a ticket? Is there anything stopping you buying one tomorrow at the ticket office?
-
can you pay on day?

With all your opinions, thought you would have a ticket, or have we found out that you call all our players because you just don't go often. :welcome:
-
From DRFC facebook: Ticket sales at 11,173 (Away Fans 4203).
-
Steady queue this morning when I went down for tickets and managed to get tickets on row R in the west stand so must be 11,000 in total.
-
Massive queue about 45 minutes ago. Lining up well outside the ticket office door.
-
The queue was out of the door this morning but more due to the fact that there were only two windows selling tickets. That wind wasnt half cold :cold:
-
Had sold 11500 at 12:15 with a queue of around 50 people outside - and 4 people selling tickets.
-
I wonder if we'll hit the 12,000 mark...

If that's the case then why are the Blunts bringing 4200 Andy ? They don't seem to have struggled to get their supporters to realise the significance that this fixture should hold for both sets of supporters. In addition neither of the 2 fixtures you have mentioned attracted away support in anywhere near such numbers or were top of the table clashes at that time.
It's dismal so far as our sales go and I just hope that there is a last minute rush bear in mind that folk are still able to swap their MK Dons tickets in to watch this clash between the 2 clubs.
-
We will get over 13k.

For the sake of pedantry Barnsley was Jan 2nd, so there wasn't the same problems as with a NYD game.
I reckon 12k at least, for whatever reason.
-
Assuming there's pay on the day, that still takes us to about 12,000 which isn't bad. I do hope there is pay on the day as the office shut early today. A 3rd of them will be Blades fans, so maybe if we pretend we can fool the players into thinking we're away and cruise to another 3-0 win.
-
Does anyone know why the ticket office closed halfway through the day today? None of the shops closed early, why should the ticket office? We have a limited amount of time to sell as many tickets as possible and therefore make as much money as we can. Some people will be turned off getting tickets tomorrow if they know they're gonna have to go down early and queue for an hour.
-
Have to say its a good point. Seems a bit of a bizarre decision to close early. SM can you look into this. Shooting ourselves in the foot. Very steady stream of people buying tickets right up until it closed.
-
Ticket Office closing early isn't helpful I'd agree. But people have had weeks to buy a ticket.

Plus the staff have a life and maybe want to go out on NYE like most other people.
Good too see that DRFC are considerate bosses.
-
Surely there is no harm staying open until 4pm like normal. I mean 4pm isnt exactly late on a normal working day, it isnt a bank holiday today. Most folk have had to do a full day today.
-
Still, even closing early by closing at 3 would have been better.
People maybe didn't buy earlier because maybe they didn't know they'd be able to attend, people leave it this late for a number of reasons.
-
To be fair most people have had weeks to get tickets. The rest will have to turn up on the day or pre order in the morning.
-
Proves the level of interest is not there and we are not likely to get the fans back that we have lost over the last few years.
The interest, albeit different levels of interest, is there and the VSC and the club all already working to improve the conditions to recapture those that may not be as regular as they once were.
I believe we've bottomed out and we will build up the fanbase again providing people feel they getting value for money and a good experience when they attend. Obviously the performance on the pitch helps.
I'm hopeful that we'll get up to between 13000 & 14000 tomorrow
and it could be the highest attendance at the KM between the 2 clubs. A far cry from 8333 a couple of years back.

IMHO if folks can't buy their tickets (phone, internet, in person) in advance, then they must expect to queue at the TO on matchdays. Isn't this what we always used to do, not so many years ago albeit at the turnstiles? It's like anything, if you think it will be busy, turn up early! You will still be able to phone for tickets before noon tomorrow and collect at the stadium, yes you may need to wait for an answer but would you prefer to be on the phone for 10-15 mins waiting or standing in the cold and rain for possibly up to an hour?
And no, even if we only have 7-7,500 home fans tomorrow that is no disaster at all, just realistic this day and age. I wish folks would stop worrying too much about the attendances (apart from the club itself) - if you go to the game, great, if you can't make it (like me) too bad.
