Sorry guys - love the bloke to bits - but no he shouldn't be allowed to just chuck two more into the hat without us looking at them first - kinda defeats the object of everyone's hard work in designing them and voting on them so far - and would also go against what the IRWT work is doing at the moment!

Please John - at least show us 'em so we can check 'em out then maybe vote yes or no after that! However, what's to stop anyone else having another go and saying, "Can we just add mine too please?"

All fairness to John but I'm sure he's been aware of this idea too and could've submitted them when everyone else did!

What's the problem like if we see them or not surely if they get put on the list we will see them anyway

Looks as though the poll is going in a yes he can direction thus defeating the aims of IRWT. Sad that Rovers supporters are given an opportunity to be democratic and once again they fall into the trap of mixing up support for a suggestion/request and /or whether they love JR.
Everyone can vote either way without it being a slight on the great man ffs, you risk setting a precedent here........don't you see that ? :(

The problem is precedent vic, the club are trying so hard to engage fans especially through the IRWT campaign. It's at odds with it surely you can see that all the hard work can be undone.

It`s a no from me, he should have submitted his designs at the beginning, anonymously like every one else, instead he wants a bye in to the second Round and it undermines all the hard work put in by others in their designs

I`ve no objection to JR choosing the kit, but please don`t run a competition and then try to gatecrash it, this must go down as a massive own goal and makes a mokery of the "In Rovers We Trust" campaign

He should be able to enter what he wants but shouldn't choose the winner.

Head on nail Gaz, it seems to me that perhaps he/the club/manufacturers are unhappy with the shortlist. It's healthy for him to participate and he more than has that right but to choose deffo NO from me too. Otherwise it's back to the old days, the whole idea is that the fans like the chosen home and away kits enough to actually buy them..........that's one of the major points of the exercise surely ?

Of course he should be allowed. who could possibly deny him as the best Chairman, as well as probably the biggest Rovers fan their is.

... I'd even let him be a part of the 'In R Lass, We Trust' Scheme!!

Can't believe the negativity , at the drop of a hat if things don't go the way of the few Rovers fans that come on here. Really how many have voted , compared to the Rovers fans who attended games ? Hardly a true reflection of the Rovers fan base is it.

All JR is wanting to do is submit his designs to JustSport along with the fans'. This doesn't mean they will end up as the final design by any means. So what's the problem?

Hoola, read my post.

I've read it and my post still stands as does my opinion . The IRWT campaign is now something the fans are getting behind imo it should not be compromised or even be perceived as compromised  ; I agree with Filo' s post completely. Also my opinion is not at odds to my opinion of the great man himself

No he shouldn't be allowed. Infact he should stick to doing his job as chairman instead of wanting to be the fan all the time!

'In Rovers We Trust' you say?! Yeah well why don't the club use that slogan and trust us the fans, instead of moving the goalposts and spitting their dummy out after they've seen the designs.

Akinfenwa, Skellow, River Don and Croft (sorry if i missed anyone) you took your time to design some very nice kits, you submitted your kits before the deadline! You're owed an apology by John Ryan because he's making a f*cking mockery of your efforts!

Grow up John.

(yes i have read SM's thread).

JR of course

I thought that the fans were voting for the final design when they go up for the vote on the website??  Or have I got that wrong??

If it IS the DRFC fans who vote for the final design then maybe JR should submit both shirts.  But NOT at the expense of the people of here who have worked hard to make the designs.

I guess what I'm trying to say is, if Just Sport decide it IS possible to make all the kits, we, the fans should have the final vote from SIX home designs and SIX away designs.

That way JR's shirts could be incorporated into the process without anyones being excluded

Some of you really do take the biscuit - can't you see how its no big deal assuming the final vote is a fair one, as had been said?

For sure, debate what may happen next year, but this kind of negative reaction towards something that JR has done positively and with enthusiasm is draining. If he wanted to control the whole thing, he'd have said thanks for the efforts and just gone ahead and chosen unilaterally, which he is more than entitled to do. Get a grip people!

I think it's great that JR wanted to submit his designs for new kits, fantastic even.  But also think he could have submitted them to the vsc to post for everyone to vote on.  Since he was out of the country during this campaign, Is it possible to open up the voting again to include them?  Seems like the fair thing to do.

I think the fair thing to do, is keep it how it is/was intended. He was too late to enter.

It's like me trying to enter tonight's lottery draw, tomorrow.

Tbh I voted no, but was trying to look for a compromise.

I agree with Filo too.
JR has seen what designs are available from this supplier and chosen two that can be adapted for the red and white hoops in order not to jeopardise the deal with them.  Creating a new model too costly I'd guess.
I hope we don't get those plain panels at the back of the shirts again though.
Good luck.

I obviously haven't made my post clear enough, JR has withdrawn his request to submit two of his own designs. From now on it will be the 5 Home and the 5 Away shirts that the VSC submitted.
