Title: February
Post by: The Red Baron on February 11, 2013, 06:53:22 pm
No, not the inevitable follow-up to Pilot's No.1 hit of 1975, but something that occurred to me while driving home today. I heard an interview with the West Brom manager Steve Clarke. They've been on a poor run recently and he said that people at the club had told him that WBA traditionally have a poor January.

With Rovers, for January read February. I remember doing some stats a while back that showed that over a number of years we had a wretched record in February. There are exceptions, of course, such as 2007-08 and 2008-09 when we won 3 out of 4 games, but far more typical was last season when we experienced two defeats and a draw in the year's second month.

We seem to be going through the typical February blues now, but with an unusually high number of games this month (we have four more starting tomorrow night) we need to put this right soon or the consequences for our promotion hopes could be serious.

Interesting stuff TRB

You know that we also bucked the Feb blues in 97-98? We got 4 points from 7 games that month. Best points return of any month that season!

I was convinced we would get out of trouble that month,  BST.

I'm a "half full"  kind of guy.
