It will be VERY expensive. I suggest you go just a little bit further down the road to Lonsdale chippy half the price and probably twice as good. and no sea horse I promise.

Not sure why it's expected of Lord Kirkham that he should put money into DRFC.

He's entitled to do what he likes with his money, and if he's not interested in Rovers then he's not interested.

Correct! Just because the bloke would rather open a chippy than spend his money on Rovers hardly means he's selling his sole to the devil, does it?

He's probably as interested in football as John Ryan is in sofa's.

Horses for courses, In JR I trust but I wouldn't go out of my way to buy a settee off him.

They're both businessmen in there own fields, and just because David Kirkham chose not to patronise Rovers it hardly makes him shellfish.

Does he actually patronise any organisation in the Borough ? Do you think he prefers the Codheads!!

He's made a shed load of cash out of Doncaster folk ! Time he put some cash back in !😡

And he's made a shed load more cash right across the country. Does that mean he has to plough a load of money into every football club/community across the land?

And just because he doesn't invest in DRFC doesn't necessarily mean he doesn't contribute to the local community. I don't know enough about him to say he definitely does, but the football club isn't the central concern of most of the town/borough, is it?

I might be wrong here but wasn't there talk of the stadium being called he DFS stadium in its infancy?

I really don't believe he does contribute to the Borough Pubteam. I've forgotten the details now but the gist of it is that when he's in town he locks himself away in Old Cantley Towers. Very little of what he spends is spent locally is my understanding.

Cheers

I'm hard work? You're not getting my point, are you?

Is there an equals sign between 'not investing in Doncaster Rovers' and 'showing no interest in the town'. Is investing in DRFC the be-all and end-all of contributing to the borough? I'm not sure it is.

There is a branch at Catcliff next to Boundry Mill/Morrisons  near Rotherham, it is very popular.
It is reasonable priced, very nice, comfortable and lovely cooking with a separate takeaway facilities.
I will take the Mrs for a treat when it's open, beer is available.

Hang on a minute I know the fella personally, hes a cracking bloke and looks after all his employees over the years. lets get one thing right, he tried buying the stadium when it was build but got revoked cos the stadium only had a 5 yr naming right. blame the council there.

I wonder how Bradford city feel with their very own supermarket giant 'Morrison's' contributing nowt directly to its local football club.

Puts the case of Mr Kirkham to shame!

Hope you don't feel so Bleak now.

Mr Kirkham and DRFC do not have a good history. In fact the things he's opposed, you wonder whether he's that bothered about jobs in Doncaster unless he's a direct beneficiary.

At the end of the day as avid a Rovers fan as I am, this bloke is a business man and if he has no jnterest in football why would he invest in a business that loses money every year??

Exactly, only those that invest in football either have more money than sense or only want the land that comes with football clubs (stadiums/training facilities). Of course there are exceptions, but out of 92 clubs how many have someone like our owners?

Just because he has made money in Doncaster doesn't mean he owes us anything.
