Title: good TV shows
Post by: ponte_ricky on March 11, 2013, 11:10:28 pm
What TV shows are you all into?

My current favourites have got to be Breaking Bad and Nip/Tuck as well as Entourage just for being the coolest show going. Nip/tuck has a perfect blend of having gripping storyline's and pretty suave characters and some really hilarious moments (not to mention lots of nice girls). I find Breaking Bad similar in those aspects (although replace hot girls with meth addicts).

gimme your best shows people,

Ricky

Walking Dead.

Theme's been done to death a bit over the last few years but the way they've put the show together is quite good really.

I love Family guy.. Stewie is a small strangely wierd god..lol

Loved Ripper Street, and I'm rather embarassed to admit it, only 17 years after the rest of the world I love Midsomer Murders.

Breaking Bad is fantastic. Probably my favourite show, can't wait for the last series but at the same time will be slightly gutted it's over. Love me some of that hard-hitting American drama, Battlestar Galactica is another great show. How they managed to turn that unbelievably camp sci-fi into serious drama is beyond me, but they somehow managed it.

Also another show that's coming back soon, Archer. Probably the funniest comedy going right now.

Walking Dead.

Theme's been done to death a bit over the last few years but the way they've put the show together is quite good really.

I really want to love Walking Dead but to me it seems like there's 2-3 boring episodes for every amazing one. I still watch it every week though cos you don't want to miss it when it does get good! Production values on it are incredible though.

Going back a bit, but X Files (minus the last 2 seasons).
24. The concept is fantastic, which no other show could ever mirror.

More recently - Homeland.

I subscribed to Netflix a couple of months ago, one of the best things I ever did, some great shows on there.  You get a 1 month free trial with the link below and can cancel any time, very easy.

https://signup.netflix.com/

Anyway, on topic, I'm currently watching Dexter.  Up to Series 4 at the moment, would highly recommend to anyone.

Also watching 'The Following' on Sky Atlantic which is very good, although a bit weird

I wouldn't claim it as a first rate comedy (and it's a diluted, poorer version of the radio show) but I would have thought someone might have waved the flag for Doncaster Rovers supporting Count Arthur Strong.

He never fails to mention Rovers when he appears as a guest on Radcliff & Maconie.

A pity they felt the need to set the TV prog in London instead of Doncaster which is where the radio show is set.

Got to admit was a late comer to Game of Thrones and only watched after Sky put first 2 seasons on prior to no 3, but I'm hooked
Love Supernatural too and the aforementioned Ripper Street

Just started watching Breaking Bad a few days ago.  I'm about 3 episodes in.  Heard rave reviews about it.  Its ok so far but not brilliant, guess its the same with most new series then all of a sudden it'll be brilliant

I personally think Game of Thrones is the most over rated thing on TV, but realise I'm probably in the minority there. I can never really get into series but think it's hard to beat Prison Break, that's the only thing I've ever watched all the way through. Tried to get into others (Lost, Game of Thrones, Heroes etc) but just always end up too far behind and lose interest.

I have been selling ANYTHING I can on E-Bay AND was about to list Series 1 , 2 , 3 , 4  and 5 of "24"

I can let you have the lot (all 5 Series) for £25 with a fiver of going to VSC if you want them. They last 24 hours each of course and are all in great nick and I have to say very good watching

Let me know and they are yours

Cheers DW
