Title: James Herbert
Post by: jucyberry on March 20, 2013, 09:00:02 pm
So very sad tonight to read James Herbert has died, since I first read the rats when i was 16 he has been my all time favorite author, the thought of never reading another new book from him I find genuinely gutting, it feels like losing an old friend.

Blimey  everybody seems to be dieing at the moment,  I must admit James Herbert had one hell of a imagination,  I've read most if not all of his books at some point. rip

Me too and I'm not a bit ashamed to admit that I cried when I read that he had died..His books have been an important part of my life for over 30 years. :-(

Agreed Deb, i'm no literary expert but he could tell a tale to chill the blood. However, for me, Fluke is his best work...genius story if  you ask me.

The dog?

My favourite was The Dark.  The bit with the football ground is great.  I read The Fog when I was about 13, and the bit with the school teacher getting his man bits lopped off with the garden shears made me wince, but I was hooked from there in.
