Great read once again Fuzzy!
-
Agreed, very good Pete. One "schoolboy error", though. McGoldrick is now at Ipswich so should be no danger to us today ;) . Forest recalled him and then sent him there.
-
Great write up as usual, I`ll be listening to Rovers Player Commentary via the iphone and bluetooth ear piece while driving the Taxi around the area, hope i don`t get any gobby customers between 3pm and 4.50pm, and no phone calls please!
-
 Oppps on McGoldrick
-
Hey, I'm just glad he's not playing for them today. Far too good a player for L1
-
They did well getting McGoldrick and paying him a "fraction" of his wages. Though that was still beyond their means in a desperate gamble to get back to the Championship.
Interesting game today with Cov being an attacking side and us tending to sit back and counter. Maybe without McGoldrick we have a better chance, but I'm not sure its the best tactic to sit too far back.
An interesting part of today will be the midfield subs. I think it will be Lundstram to start with Furman benched. So then there's the CM like for like swap of Furman and Lundstram or the slightly more defensive move of Furman on for Copps. And the usual Paynter on for Brown/Hume, and I hope to see Wakefield get a game but suspect we'll be doing a Bennett on for Cotts.
I also reckon Quinn will be starting - Flynns RP interview sounded a bit like a smokescreen to me.
-
Re Bennett for Cotts - Cotts is on 9 Yellows. I think the amnesty for 10 cards may kick into play this weekend so I can see him being subbed later on.
P.S. Good read as always Fuzzy
-
After the game next Saturday (6th)

After the game next Saturday (6th)
Are you sure? I thought card amnesty day was the second Sunday in April.
<added>
Just checked on the FA page and it is the second sunday in April. I doubt Cotts could go 5 games without a yellow - thats then 2 games out.
Jones is on 8 yellows, Hume 5 yellow and a red.
-
Team (from BBC site):
33 Woods
03 Husband
05 Jones
14 Spurr
16 McCombe
19 Griffin
11 Cotterill
12 Lundstram
26 Coppinger
09 Brown
17 Hume
Substitutes
01 Sullivan
15 Wakefield
20 Harper
35 Furman
08 Paynter
18 Sinclair
23 Bennett
So Griffin in for Quinn only change; Furman and Harper on the bench
Edit: Presumably Griffin at RB, but might it possibly be Husband at RB, Griffin CM and Coppinger wide?
-
Sensible option is a straight swap, Griffin to right back for Quinn. No point messing it all up and putting 3 players out of position.
Is this game available to be listened to on any radio stations today chaps?
-
Harper on the bench.
-
Harper on the bench.
?????????? Thought he'd buggered off .
-
Harper on the bench.
?????????? Thought he'd buggered off .
Thought or hoped? ;)

Must have come back with his tail between his legs like a dog?Well he is a Pointer! :coat:

Both but with the emphasis on hoped
-
Didn't want anyone to think he was being hounded out :coat:
-
Anyone got any updates to provide? Looks like I'm stuck listening to Blackpool on 5Live.
-
Oh balls. Goal for Cov as the reporter went there on 5Live.
-
Oh dear... seems they're up for it
-
Feck, Rabbits out of hats time, we need to pull a few, had a real bad feeling about this one.
-
Kinda thought they might be - empty glass :(. Won't be a minute

-
They are playing for pride every game for them is now a last chance to give the fans something to cheer for we will do well to get a draw
-
Bournemouth winning
-
According to commentary a bit one sided at moment.no chances for us.our passes seem to be going astray.
-
Brentford also lead against County.
-
Brentford winning too
-
It's bicycle clip time
-
Apparently Mick Russell is the referee in this Blackpool game I've got on as well!
-
Copps seems to be giving ball away a bit.but still plenty of time.
-
Yeah Humey's touch seems heavy too
-
Promotion is in our hands, have we got the bottle?
-
Promotion is in our hands, have we got the bottle?
Ive got a bottle in my hands ;)
-
If we are the best team in this division it's time for us to show some character ala Stevenage, weather the storm and give em the ol' one two
-
Promotion is in our hands, have we got the bottle?

I've actually put the bottle on the opposite side of the room. I'm on a diet you see. Need the exercise
-
Looks like HT can't come quick enough, Bf needs to give the boys an almighty bollocking and get them back on it second half.
-
This doesn't sound too good:

Simply awful from Rovers in this first half #ccfc 1 #drfc 0
-
Changed to a 4-5-1 formation which is containing Coventry better but little sign of a Rovers threat up front.
-
Not going well so far. Copps been substituting in the middle of the park but Coventry are too good a team for that.
Let's get Furman on. Tell the full backs to get forward when they can, get Copps further up the pitch. Might have to get Husband off (although I'd prefer Husband at full back than Spurr).
-
Other results not going for us.
-
Blunts 1-0 up
-
Not good but I think it improved marginally. We stopped them from getting as many chances as they were to start. Hopefully Flynny can see what's going wrong and correct it. :s
-
They need a real kick up the arse at the break. Three of the sides behind us are winning and only Tranmere are losing. Got to get back into it.
-
Tranmere losing --> more chance of a consolation play off spot...
-
I'm hearing Furman is coming on for Husband at the break. Any truth to this anyone know?
-
This:

Looks like Furman is coming on. Warming up on his own #ccfc 1 #drfc 0
-
Hubby off for Furman
-
copps left wing
-
This sounds a bit more like it (shame about the disallowed goal):
liamhodenDFP 4:09pm via TweetDeck
This first four minutes of the second half have been better than the whole first 45 for Rovers #ccfc 1 #drfc 0
-
Our supports making a lot of noise.good of them.brill.
-
Quiet in here.
-
Gah...
liamhodenDFP 4:23pm via TweetDeck
Rovers denied a penalty as a marauding Griffin is clipped in the box. My first thought was penalty #ccfc 1 #drfc 0
-

Bennett replaces Iain Hume #ccfc 1 #drfc 0
-
Benny is on for Hume.
-
Quiet in here.
I think is contemplation. We seem to be doing better but there's no hard evidence
-
Oldham winning
-
Oldham lead at Swindon! Come on. Let this be the start of the turnaround in results for us today.
-
Furman hits the post!
-
Aye, it looks like we're giving it a go. So says the internets.
-
Good news is Swindon losing at home
-
:rtid:
Sticking my neck out - we'll get a draw
Great noise from Donny fans!!
-
We can get something from this never give in
Come on
Brentford 2-0
-
Swindon one all
-
Oldham winning
1-1 now
-
County have a penalty now. So much for the Bees being out of sight.
Scored on the rebound.
-
Sounds like we're on the verge of a goal - come on Rovers! :boxing: :scarf: :boxing:
Swindon have all three of their last day Spurs loans on the pitch.
-
Donny still losing sort it out
-
Donny still losing sort it out
That Donny often seem to get a few in the last 15 mins, I fear them winning this one.

-
Only 7 times this season have we registered zero goals in a game. Come on Rovers!
-
Everything gone wrong for us today forget it and move on to monday
-
If score stays same will make a win crucial on on monday
-
Please.
-
never fancied this one tbh
-
One of them days - just need to make sure we in on Monday.
-
Crucial game now on Monday
-
unlucky second half
-
Ok got the draw wrong. Still top of the league. Keep smiling
-
Just have to carry on the performance from the 2nd half here into Monday. In front of the home fans and the TV camera we absolutely must get a win now. Hope the boys are ready for it.
Onwards and upwards. RTID :scarf:
-
Yep. Coventry thrashed us earlier in the season. They were on a great run under Robins. We bossed the second half and deserved something.
Monday is now one hell of a game in the making.
-
Disastrous result
-
Hope this isn't the start of another blip must win on Monday and win well
-
Disastrous result
I agree, that almost confirms our relegation to league two.

Brilliant. Wake up and look at our rivals' results today
-
Disastrous result
Unbelieveable.
-
Calm down everyone. This is not the time to panic. Far from it.

Lose another point - we're back in the conference!
-

Unbelieveable.
Why unbelievable? Everyone around us with the exception of Swindon have won today. We go into Mondays game with an awful home record against Swindon who have a pretty decent away record

Yeah i've seen em, I've also seen the league table.

Exactly. We are top of the table and played well in the second half. Looks like we were quite unlucky not to get something.
If we're two clear still in 5 games time I'll take it heading into the Brentford game.

If i'm correct, if we don't finish top of the pile, I am sure we have two other opportunities to go up. Not really a disaster is it.
-
Cant win them all people. Our performance second half warrented a point but hey ho.
Remember who we are! We're Donny Rovers, we do things the hard way. Wouldnt surprise me if we beat Swindon Monday :scarf:

Cannot believe you're saying this. We have just been 5 points clear at the top with so few games to play and now you're saying that the play offs is ok? outrageous.
-
Agreed, always doing things the hard way. Ill die an early death - heart attack.

Yeah ... One of them won and got FIVE points!

If we went up via the play offs then yes, it would be ok. Don't get me wrong, I want us to go up as champions but i'm not panicking just yet. Plenty more twists and turns.
-
Aye - who amongst thought we'd do it the easy way? Still, it sounds like we gave it the beans in the second half. Need to start every game that way...
-
Personally Id love a day out at Wembley again - preferably against the Blades.
What will be will be, Id have been happy with a top half finish before the season started, sa anything above that is a bonus.
-
Not long back in, we deserved something for that second half performance, having been shocking in the 1st where we just didn't turn up. Apart from swapping Husband for Furman, I can't understand why the players didn't make the same efforts in the first 45 mins.
Griff MoM for me, made some excellent attacking forays and defended calmly. Should have had a penalty, especially as the ref gave a foul against Copps immediately afterwards for a lesser challenge :(
-
don't forget to vote for your MOM here (http://www.drfc-vsc.co.uk/index.php?topic=238445) :aok:
