Title: Tranmere Predictions
Post by: Belle-Vue-Ghost on April 04, 2013, 07:30:52 pm
Another big game at the Keepmoat Saturday.  What we going for?

I think we'll sneak it 1-0  :scarf:

I predict a very different game to the Swindon one.

Whereas Swindon came with a game plan of keeping it tight and sneaking a point (and stopping us getting away at the top), that does the Trannies no good - they need the points probably more than we do if they are to get some reward from this (rare) very good season they've had.

I think they will have more attacking intent and our defence will have to be one top form, however I expect that will give us the space to play our own attacking game.

I'm going for 3-2 to the Rovers!!!!!

They have had more bad injury news

"Injuries will prevent on-loan striker Mamady Sidibe and winger Adam McGurk from playing in Tranmere's final four League One games of the season."

But that Bell-Baggie looks a handful as well as a mouthful !! Let's hope for half-decent weather and a good roll up of fans on the day pushing for 8500-9000?

If we can start where we left off then Tranmere will struggle to keep us out. Feel good factor, confidence and a vocal crowd should lift us to 2 goal margin !

They cannot defend & their manager has admitted that, if we are organised, play well defensively, we have a very good chance of nicking it.

Arrghh......how often have we played well for two or more games in a row ?
If we play like we have for the last 135 minutes, comfortable 2-0 win.
If we play like we did first 45 at Coventry, comfortable 0-2 defeat.

Which Rovers will turn up?

Tranmere have failed to score in 5 of their last 7 games.

They have lost 9 of their last 13 games.

That looks ominous...

Actually, ballacks to that. They are a busted flush. We'll beat them 2-0 at a canter. Tranmere are doing what we did in 90/91. Start off like a bat out of hell. Momentum from early season keeps them top by January. But the cracks show more and more as the season goes on and they fade away out of the play-offs.

Put it this way. Tranmere are currently in relegation form and, but for a brief spurt around New Year, have been for 6 months. If we don't beat them on Satdi, we have only ourselves to blame for putting unnecessary pressure on us.

This game is there for the taking for sure. As has been said, Tranmere's form since Christmas has been that of a relegation side. It's no coincidence that they've lost form as the spine of the pre-Christmas team has been dismantled as loanees have returned to parent clubs.

However, I fear that they will come to spoil for a draw. Their pitch is a bad as ours and I just don't see much football being played. I fear that they will try and bypass midfield, lumping the ball into the channels for Robinson and Bell-Baggie to try and get onto it and get the ball into the box. Fortunately, their French striker is out of form: cow's arse, banjo and all that.

If you're Ronnie Moore you'd be looking at winning your last couple of home games and at least drawing your aways. That would give them 74 points which might sneak them into the play-offs.

One goal will win this. Hopefully it's us.

3-1 I reckon, they'll try and attack and our counter attacking play from away games will be too strong for them.  Brown, Furman and Cotterill with the goals in front of 9,324.

2-0 no problem, Rovers to dominate the whole game.

They have two key players out. Their two top goalscorers have less than 20 between them. Never won at KM. On a bad run of form having been cantering away with it early on. Battling for a sneak into the playoffs.

I fear the worst, but will take a late one goal scramble with Bennett of all people to punt home from close range in front of a wild SS.

Crowd 8500, with the fickle Doncaster public choosing instead to sit at home watching a couple more horses dying in the name of sport.

 1000 travelling support for Tranmere.

The Swindon game I predicted we'd be well beaten 2-0, I'm more confident today but that may not be a good thing

Final score 2-1, McCombe scoring AGAIN   :rtid:

A draw is no good to the Trannies, they have to come onto us, we could well see our counter attacking away form come to the fore here, whoever scores first will more than likely win the game
