a minuets silence for Tatcher i think we should all boo the bitch and turn our backs on the pitch what do u all think
-
They can't enforce that can they? even if they can they can't force the fans to honour it.
-
no they cant but we could do a mass hoky koky if they do then it is a dictatorship
-
Booing is too mundane for Thatcher, I'd far rather we all gave her one long raspberry.
-
what ever disrupts it the most for me im having a party then the funeral is on
-
Im gonna have to bring the vuvuzela out for a play!
-
good idea can you get me one
-
Would be daft to even attempt it.
-
She hated football and football fans in particular - so seems barking mad to have any remembrance that has a connection with football.
-
Bring it on.
-
she demonised football fans during her time , labelling most if not all as hooligans. she did not understand the national game for working people. she wanted to introduce id cards and other draconian measures.
there is no way a minutes silence would be honoured in her name.
-
no chance this will happen and certianly not a good idea . it would be more of a minutes boo to be honest
-
Where have you seen this? I can't imagine for a minute they would ask for it.
There are some voices asking for a statue in a public space, perhaps the fourth plinth. That would be foolhardy, it would be constantly attacked and defaced. They have given her a statue in Westminster, They should leave it at that.

Madejski's calling for it too. Don't they have Liverpool this weekend?

Indeed they do, so that won't be happening then.
Dave Wheelan at Wigan wants it too but the government haven't officially asked for anything as far as I am aware.

I think this is the article referred to:
http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/22078110
No mention of the Government- unless Dave Whelan was appointed Foreign Secretary while my back was turned.
-
I used to quite like Dave Whelan. Hope his lot get relegated now.

To be fair to the Tories (Jesus wept...never expected to say THAT in my life) David Mellor has been on the radio today saying that it would be madness and the ides should be binned.
This is the logical consequence of chucking minutes of silence around like confetti. They should be extremely rare events, confined to the deaths of either major figures associated with a club, or major figures in the national game. They should not be used as an expression of the emotional incontinence that we have developed as a nation.
Not least because it would be inevitable that someday we'd get calls for a minute's silence for a person who many folk actively despised and did not respect.
It's all that educationally sub-normal doe-eyed bint's fault. She emasculated a nation,

Too sodding right Billy. I always did think, (Brian - Pete will bear me out on this!) that she would have been a helluva lot better woman if some pimply lad had dragged her round the back of the bike sheds one afternoon after school and done what comes naturally.

They should be scrapped completely except in exceptional circumstances, this is not one of them...

Someone from the FA was on Talksport this morning saying how the FA wont tell clubs they have to do this, as she was such a divisive person. I didnt catch who it was, missed the start of the interview.
