Title: New keeper?
Post by: balbykiwirover on May 18, 2013, 07:57:20 am
Who do you fancy? If Shay Given will take a 90% pay cut, he'd do nicely.

If we are prepared to pay money for a keeper I would like Wes Foderingham from Swindon but prob cost too much.

He's a very good keeper and would be for now and not future he used to play regular for Peterborough before Cardiff snapped him up.

I've heard that is who we are after. Not saying we will get him but you never know. I'd take Harper as well by the way.

Steve Harper is retiring.

James?? Well his wildly pointing, swinging arms could make some good saves I suppose!!

Always rated Murphy, and I would assume he would be fairly cheap due to Coventry's financial situation, or am I putting 2 + 2 together to make 5?

Murphy please, although a.n other of Gerken, Westwood or Lewis would be great.
Then of course there's the lads at (or just left) other League One Clubs - Moore, Foderingham, Flinders.
We've gotta have freed up some decent money for this position now!

Harper would be a great signing, experienced, still got the reflexes, could get two or three years out of him,Ikeme i know he made a few mistakes, but would be a great signing, rate him highly,as i do Westwood,Flinders another one,had plenty practice behind the Pool defence

Saw a rumour on Twitter yesterday that we're to sign Steve Harper. Makes sense really, don't you think? Experienced and wouldn't cost the earth!

Foderingham
westwood

Tbh don't think I would want Harper, I wouldn't be to disappointed if we got him just I would prefer a younger keeper rather than a 38yr old because we would be back to square one in a year or 2 looking for a new keeper because Harper wouldn't have too long left playing.

Whoever we get it needs to be soon having released Woodsy. at least it shows that we will indeed have a new keeper.
