Are coaches being run to away friendlies per chance?

You can get one every ten minutes from the Interchange for the Rossington fixture.

Rossington's the easiest to get to so far, I'm thinking more Bradford and Retford.

I missed the last Rosso friendly (Ben Smith getting beaten from range as a portent of things to come springs to mind), so this one is definitely going in my diary.

Booked tickets to Retford Fake Festival about 2 hours before this friendly was announced! Slightly annoyed I'll miss it as it's always nice to watch Rovers in my home town. Will try to make the Rosso one on the Tuesday instead, work permitting.

Just what we need: Retford and Rosso

Early pre-season runarounds, effectively competitive training sessions that also give a huge boost to two local grassroots clubs and re-establish Rovers within the community... yep, I'd say that it is just what we need

These games help these clubs financially for a few years.

Agreed Donny. But what do they do for us? Nothing IMO. Most likely a mix of youth and reserve team, which is fine as long as the proposed 1st 11 are playing rather more meaningful friendlies

On the press release I had it stated the full squad would be attending both games.

In terms of what they do for Rovers, they act as a stepping stone up from training sessions back to competitive games - part of a gradual build-up from initial training to regular matches. That's why we always start with a game against a side from this level; eg. Cleethorpes last season which didn't seem to do Rovers too much harm

If everyone in football had a "what's in it for me?" attitude then the sport wouldn't last very long IMO. It doesn't hurt us one bit to play these games and it helps the amateur clubs loads.
