That looks grand. Especially that exploding head at far right. That sums up the moment perfectly!
But seriously, these pictures are excellent. Really should be hung up at the KMS.

Brian Flynns expressions tells its own story within
the picture. Well done
-
agreed with bst.
would be amazing to have blown up copies of you paintings up.
wondered if you could do paintings of the goals/celebrations at the brittania, cardiff and wembley, key points in our history.
how positive would it be to see these up at kms.
well done by the way

Quite an accurate portrait then!
Only joking.

I've really struggled with this as its taken of a you tube video frozen so there isn't any detail in the faces, every things fuzzy so trying to get the faces accurate is left to my imagination. I'd love to do more but doing them from other peoples photos infringes copyright law.
So if any of you out there have photos you have taken you wouldn't mind me using please get in touch.
Thanks for all your comments by the way - they make it all worth while.

Tiddy , how much would one of these paintings cost, if you were to sell.
-
I think both you and DRFC should sit down at a table
To work out how to best use Your tallent around the KMS.
Thats if both partys are up for it?

I've loved this club as far back as i can remember - I'd be honored to work with DRFC - back in the 70s if you have any programs from then you may remember the cover of a few of them having a line drawing of Billy Brem, Gerry Delahunt (physio) and Cyril Knowells on the front that was one of mine I did in my teens.
I've still got some I did back from then - as I've said in previous posts I paint and just store them in my garage.

I'm no expert but your paintings look superb. I'm sure there would be plenty of people out there who would buy them. I'd bet you could sell them in the club shop. Just get some prints done. Or you could get a few up in the bar.
-
could you do Billy Sharp where he has his shirt over his head and that's for you son under shirt on?

:that:
If you could make prints and do a numbered and themed series of them, (and sell them at a reasonable price, of course), you'd sell a crap-load.
Fantastic work.

You could spend a little more time to work into them and sell the originals for considerably more as well.
You are a good draughtsman and I'm sure your paintings will have a market.

Doncaster on canvas.
For me the greatest art work Donny has seen.

I think this is brilliant as well.

Oslo's right Tiddy. John Bird has painted for a living for quite a long time now. He did one of Durham Cathedral for my Mum maybe 10 years back now. He knows his way around so a chat could do no harm.
As for selling, there's quite a lucrative trade if you can identify your market. There's a guy called Jonathan Shaw who sticks to one particular kind of pic. I happen to like it. He sells the originals for quite scary money really, but before he does so, he gets professionally taken photos of them and sells those as well as limited edition prints. He's found his market. And he sticks to it. Maybe you have just found yours? If you have, there's folk who will spend the money. I've got 4 prints and 4 originals of Jonathan Shaws'.
If you fancy having a look to see just how closely he generally sticks to his one theme, have a browse round here:

It would be nice if the club could commission this & bung you a few quid to do this & present to Billy before a game (as I'm sure our paths will cross this season).
In age where former greats are abused by fans (not ours) it would be a great touch, Maybe one for Silent Majority to look at?
Also it would be great to see this work up in the concourses alongside other great moments in our history, Wembley, JPT, Stoke,David Harle etc with some moments from Dons & Belles as well.
-
I agree with all the positive comments Tiddysdad - absolutely brilliant and I would be interested at some stage
-
These are really well done, and I was trying to think of the style they reminded me of, and it just came to me. like Leroy Neman's sports posters? I like yours better to be honest. Looking forward to more of them!
-
Would be good to see your old Rovers stuff Tiddy if it was possible to put them on here. Great painting and like someone else said earlier, it really does capture everything that happened in the final seconds at Brentford. The relief (Flynn) to the ecstasy (Brown and Hume).
I have one of the paintings done by John Bird from Belle Vue.

Who's that Plant pic by RD? I'm not sure I've ever seen it before. Shame on me.
Where's the original too?!

The painting is Called 'Giants Refreshed' by Terence Cuneo. It was originally commissioned by the LNER and was used in one of their posters. There is a copy of the poster at Cusworth Hall. I think Donny museum has the original.
Cuneo is famous for his works of British engineering, steam locomotives and depictions of the second world war. There is a statue of him at Waterloo Station.

Thank you RD. I've seen plenty of TC's pics one way and another in the past - but never that one. It's a belter isn't it?

I never knew there was a statue to Cuneo at Waterloo - and was there only the other week. You learn something every day.
