Just listening to Talksport about Wayne Rooney about to leave Man United. Not a Man U fan but in my honest opinion he is incredibly over rated. Lets get it right he's just a very good attacking midfielder. Poor mans Frank Lampard. Done nothing for England in years. Would rather have Defoe, Crouch, Welbeck up front than him. Not saying he is a bad player and he will add something to Arsenal and maybe even Chelsea but he's not all that. Agree/Disagree? interested to know.

I don't think much to him. He can chip in with a few goals but nothing special in terms of supposed top class players. He can be the heartbeat of the midfield on his day but equally can be absolute gash and his attitude can be awful..
Welbeck though? f**k me, no.

I've said for the last 5 years Wayne Rooney is a great player, there is no doubt about it, he's quick, strong and good technical ability and can score goals but (and like the rest of English players) he isn't world class.
-
Yeah, I'd never want Wayne Rooney in our team. Load of gash.
-
FOT (Is my opinion of Rooney)
You good people will be able to work it out from that !
-
For sure the plum is not worth the Wage he is getting
By a country mile.
Think he is damaged goods at the moment,as in his Heart and head.
-
thats cos his head is up his arse . To be honest though we pin our hopes on anyone who has showed any sign of class as england fans , the problem is a few of them can be world class on their day when everthing is going right, but never show that consistency of a messi or a van persie where its more noteable when they have an off day thats few and far between. Rooney and the rest of the england squad are just not good enough

@Jenny lol stick that one in the rumour mill. @DonnyWolf just trying to make the close season a bit less boring. It's called banter.

Massively over-rated.
Very good player, awful attitude. A very unpleasant human being by most accounts.
Not worth half his wage on the pitch, but he's very marketable since he's English.

I don't do Twitter / Facebook so have I missed something ?
FOT = F Overated T
You can choose what appropriate F and T may precede and follow the overated !

Very gifted player, without a doubt. His problems are (a) his short fuse and (b) his fitness. He puts weight on easily and struggles to get it off (I do sympathise!)
Noticeable how many of our better players in England seem to come with a lot of baggage. I don't suppose the fact that they are indulged from an early age and given huge contracts helps much.
-
Ah Donnywolf got you. Had no idea what FOT meant but assumed it was some sort of negetive re original post thing because of the you work it out bit. My bad.

Since he joined Utd in 2004, the number of games he's started for club and country, by year, have been: 51, 47, 56, 39, 53, 50, 47, 50, 37.
At the same time, the number of cards he's got - red or yellow, by year, have been: 9, 13, 11, 11, 15, 8, 7, 4, 7.
So - his fitness doesn't seem to be a problem. And his discipline has significantly improved.
-
With better fitness level and attitude he could have taken over the Paul Scholes role at United. I think that was Fergies plan.
