oh com'n. its about promoting rovers in the community and at the same time getting well needed income for the host clubs. 8 quid - not a bank breaker   :rtid:

When you pay your money just think that revenue will keep them going for a long time,it's a very good money spinner for sides like Retford.

8 quid ?
Whats that a packet of fags? A six pack of tinnies? A hit?
Or possibly the future of a local side?

Cant wait to see rovers!

At Rossington the club have raised their prices for the Rovers friendly to £6 and £3 (instead of £4 and £2). Its not a decision made easily, especially when thinking of the locals who go along to watch the teams regularly, but as others have said the income from these friendlies could keep Rossington and Retford afloat for a few years.

I can't speak for Retford, but Rossington's players are not paid any money, so all the income from this friendly will help them to improve their ground; a key football facility in the local community.

Retford players are on a very low budget  and are in debt to over 100k  so this could held the club make in roads to the debt, and keep them from going to the wall.  dont forget Rovers get expenses  and share of gate, and you have to pay for a good quality ref to championship standard, good bar on the ground.
We are running a bus from Doncaster to Retford for the game,  cost will be about a fiver..........
Retford branch supporters club have sponsored match ball as well.
lets break the record crowd on nearly 1500.
