This certainly shows the bad side of the sport.  No matter what decisions are made, no one should suffer in this way for basically doing something many others wouldn't.

My thought is how many referees and assistants will stop doing so in Holland. It will certainly stop people becoming refs, and it could do irrepairable damage to the game at ground roots level in that Country.

As in Willie boyd?

If so the said player turned up in the stag pub When donny were due to play mk dons at home.

It was an xmass drink piss up for should i say the not
Normall rovers fans/lads.

Mr boyd was bang on and Made a point Of asking everyone present if they like a drink.

Must have Bern close on 40 lads there and ALL had a great time.

Mr boyd was very approachable and took us all how he saw us.

What pisses me off is the sentences... six years for the dad who got involved and 1 and 2 year sentences for the lads involved. A family has lost a dad and husband, and an income earner.... And THAT is how it's punished? It's a bad joke.

From what i read in that sky report,it was the players from an immigrant football team that killed the linesman by kicking him to death.

The team it self was part of an project which was set up to Help young immigrants settle in to dutch society via the means Of football.

Iam sure iam correct in Saying that the team involved no longer plays in the project after Been refused so by
Whoever.

A very tricky one is this for the powers that be to understand and move on from,as for sure you would never read about 5 or 6 dutch young teenagers kicking
a match offical to death.

But When you read that immirgrants are the culprits and findout that they are from an african background ,
For some sad reason you can paint a picture.

For sure it was not a racist attack as if the linesmen had Been Black, yellow,Brown, tanned it would have Been same outcome.

Quote
"What can I do to teach today's football youth the difference between anger and aggression?" said national football association chairman Michael van Praag at a ceremony afterwards.

One thing would be much tougher penalties for players and staff who lose it towards officials throughout the game, but especially in the high profile pro games. And for me that includes running up to a ref/lino and shouting in their face, swearing at them etc.
