Have officially redefined the word 'literally', so that now it is correct to use it in a similar way to the word 'metaphorically'. Examples given on radio this morning were Jamie Redknap making the statement: 'in his youth, Michael Owen was literally a greyhound'. This is now correct usage, as is 'Wayne Rooney was literally on fire' (might be no bad thing).
The OED introduce words that come into common use and remain so, which of course is perfectly right otherwise we'd be in a right pickle in this modern age of computers, but now it seems it's ok to redefine a word because too many people who don't know what it means keep misusing it.
Fcuk me O'Riley, (not literally though please).
