I know its weeks away, but is the club making plans to show it live in the Belle Vue Bar for those who can`t make it the match ,nice little earner for the club . FREE ADMISSION , Get some programmes sent down from Middlesborough to be sold in the bar. Food on sale, maybe a raffle[RED or WHITE draw] a few pints ,all like minded souls together. Or the club could charge ,say £2 per adult, £1 per child ,or a family ticket for £5, having a few pints watching US play and knowing the kids would be safe, just an idea
-
Sounds great idea and stop me adding sky sports on in hard times.
-
Has anyone got an idea of how much Middlesbrough will be charging as I'm hoping to go. Are they doing a special reduced rate for away supporters with it being on sky.
-
From football grounds guide:
Adults £29 (£27)
Over 65's £19 (£17)
Under 18's £16 (£14)
Where Cat B prices are in brackets. I can't see us being anything other than Cat B and hopefully they may reduce them further because of the Sky factor.
Just goes to show that for all the fuss about Saturday, those kind of prices are common place in this division.
Middlesbrough have a members scheme which means home fans can get a £2 reduction on prices if they are an adult/over 65 and a £4 reduction on under 18s prices. Again, looks like this is a common way to get around charging away fans more.
-
You're idea sounds an excellent one to me Draytonian.
Let's hope theres's someone at the club who has the same foresight as you. Any income into the club has to be good, so please don't make this an opportunity missed Commercial Team.
-
We have spoken to the club about this today and they are looking into this idea. Watch this space.

There was a fuss because Wednesday would have been a match quite a few fans who don't normally travel would take in and suddenly they discovered how expensive this league is.

Middlesborough Ticket Prices

Tiddys just started Uni up there so we thought that we would go up and take him to the game. We dropped him off last week and it cost £50 in petrol round trip. So three tickets at Cat C prices = £81 + program £3 + parking possible £4
This comes to £138 that's without a drink or snack. Footballs not for the common man any more.
I'm considering just going up and watching it in the Union Bar.
-
But if at some point you'd go and visit your son anyway, the petrol cost would be there irrespective of the football. At least you have another reason to make the journey?
-
Jesus what car do you drive if it costs £50 to get to boro and back?
-
£50 round trip Christ what was you driving
-
Reckon they went in a taxi jenny
-
Maybe he doesn't live in Doncaster?
-
I do that journey in reverse for every game - 92 mile each way costs me about £25 in total
-
Yeah about £20 in total from here
-
about 400£ including the Ferry or Eurotunnel for me and overnight stay in Donny
-
we travel up to see my in laws near guisborough quite a lot from barnsley and costs me £20 a time in petrol. and that's with a car full of stuff, 2 adults, 1 baby and 1 dog :P
-
Lets forget the travelling costs as you say i'm going up anyway its still £80+ to watch a game that's on the box.

But there's no substitute for being there, for soaking in the atmosphere (however much of one there is).. I'd always rather go to the game if I can.

You drive to Middlesborough and back in reverse?
f**king drivers these days arsing about and trying to be clever. I blame it all on Clarkson.

Yeah we know we have read the thread on it. You are hardly a credible witness on this, you blame everything on Clarkson, you probably think he sent those students to wake you up too.

jenny - im sorry but "all the fuss about Saturday" is not appropriate. £27/£29 quid maybe- just maybe tolerable but 16 quid for an under 16 definitely is not.
Too expensive-by far.
Its about time everyone acknowledged and accepted this.
And more importantly do something about it.
Fans wont be going to Middlesborough in numbers - and its not just down to it being on telly.
Everyone should spend their money on going to the KM instead for this game.

Cut-price tickets announced for the game:
http://www.gazettelive.co.uk/sport/football/boro-announce-cut-price-ticket-offer-6130766
I wonder if this will be a "local promotion" or if these prices will be available to away fans?
-
We are attempting to find out if that will be the case Red Baron.
-
No.
Clubs are allowed 4 games a season where they do local promotions, which means they can reduce prices for home fans and don't have to extend this to away fans.
Middlesbrough are more than entitled not to pass on the discount to away fans, but I imagine that they will, it wouldn't be in their interests not to.
-
Just tell them we will promise to buy loads of beer in their ground and pies etc.
-
I've Just rang Middlesbrough Ticket office and they have said that The deal pointed out by Red Baron will be rolled out to Rovers Fans - £12 an Adult and £7 for concessions.
And Doncaster will be receiving the tickets shortly
Great News

Hopefully DRFC can do the same for our home game against Yeovil. Otherwise I anticipate a crowd of 5k with probably 10 from Yeovil.
-
Nice one Boro!
-

-

Bugger, I'm on a works leaving do round Barnsley.
Does anyone think I will get my head kicked in if I insist that they show the match in Walkabout?
-
I don't think they know what TV's are in Barnsley Rob. They're only just grasping the concept of the wheel.

Try driving in the forward gears, it will be quicker and more economical for fuel usage.

Come on jimmy, BST pointed that out 24 days ago on this thread.
