Title: Two for Brian Flynn to watch.
Post by: newyankee on October 08, 2013, 09:18:22 pm

This is an open message to Silent Majority to put to Brian Flynn, two players worth looking at.

I saw Dundee United play Kilmarnock at the weekend and two players stood out.

First was a 17 year old midfielder called Ryan Gauld, he is already in the Scottish Under 21 squad, very clever on the ball, hard tackler and has a good shot.

The secon is 21 years old and joined Portsmouth as a 17 year old when they were in the Premiership. He is Nadir Ciftci  who can play midfield or striker. Very strong kid who has a very powerful shot.

I don't know how many others saw this game as it is on BT Sports, whatever that is in England.  I don't know how many of you get that.

If anyone did see the game I would be interested in your comments.

Hi haven't seen them personally Newyankee, but the right sort of ages when you can see if they've got it or not(ability),our club because we haven't got the massive resources need to look in slightly unorthodox places to pick up a gem or two for the future.

There are plenty of talented players in Scotland,Ireland,Wales etc,it's just finding the right one's hopefully the club are trying to improve the scouting of players from other years.

Interesting as I saw the match and concur with you. Both were head and shoulders above the rest. I thought the general standard of the game has taken a step back from the old blood and thunder regime it once was.

I did'nt see the game, but always like to hear peoples opinions on players. But I would think the problem is not so much being aware of the young prospect players, but those players who are currently within our reach.Straight away some might think we are in the championship and he's only at Dundee utd,he will jump at signing for us,But what i mean is,if it's true RM have had him watched and he is getting some attention already from other clubs, and he is getting first team football already at the club he is at,he may well think thanks but no thanks. The REAL deal is to find a young player who is not so hot on the scene at current and may well recently have been released from a club but may well turn into a good player.James Husband for for example,I believe he was released from the Weeds,Rufus Brevett released by Derby etc.The lad released from Sunderland and who looked good in the Scunny reserves game shows that we are looking at those types of players.
