Bongani Khumalo and Dean Furman (who was booked) played the full game in South Africa's 1-1 draw with Morocco in a friendly in Agadir.
Luke McCullough played a full game (also booked) in Northern Ireland Under-21's 0-1 home defeat to Belgium.
David Cotterill was an unused sub for Wales in their 1-0 victory over Macedonia.
Theo Robinson is in Jamaica's squad for their game v USA in Kansas later today.

We can add in Theo Robinson, who was a 73rd minute substitute in Jamaica's 0-2 defeat to the USA.

Many thanks for that TRB - it is not always easy to track Rovers players in far flung corners of the world. An honour for the club as well as the players.
I make Theo the 20th Rovers player to play a full International match whilst with Rovers. Amazingly half of those have come since we returned to the League only 10 years ago, and the other 10 were all before 1964 - I make it 40 years between Alfie Hale's last ROI cap with Rovers in 1964 and Dave Mulligan's first with Rovers for NZ in 2004
It shows Rovers are no different from other Championship teams with high numbers of non-English players (not surprisingly we have never had a player gain a full England International cap whilst with us), and also in parallel to the true globalisation of football, the tendency for many English born players to choose to play for countries of family origin (Mulligan, McCammon, Stock, Robinson).
I just hope we get no injuries.......

Furman and Khumalo should be back with us at the start of next week, but we'll be holding our breath re. Robinson, Cotterill and McCullough who all have games on Tuesday.
-
Dutch- I agree on 20. Alfie Hale was the 10th Rover to win a full international cap and Dave Mulligan was the 11th. So after 40 years of nothing we've had 10 players selected for full internationals in the last decade.

I have a question TRB
Dean Furman played 3 international matches for South Africa on 2, 8 & 16 June. Do these count as being while at DRFC? His loan was from 14 March until the end of last season (is that 27 April, or 30 June or some other date?) and he was announced as signing a 2 year deal on 12 July. Was he officially still with DRFC, Oldham or without a club during these 3 matches?
It might become interesting as he might have a chance to overtake Len Graham's club record of 14 caps whilst with Rovers - a record which has stood for more than half a century.
FWIW, in my opinion I feel he was still morally a DRFC player, and the caps should count as being while with DRFC. What does anyone else think?

On internationals, Did not Colin Grainger Play once for England (may have been a friendly-or am i in dreamland ?)
-
Yes, but not while he was with Rovers. Tony Woodcock was another.

Dutch. I haven't counted the three caps he won in June 2013 as he was technically an Oldham player. His contract with them ended on 30th June. I did count the one he won in March last year (SA v Central African Republic) as he was on a long-term loan with us at that time. His loan with us expired at the end of the season.
By the same token, I've included three caps in Dave Mulligan's total (27/05/2006, 31/05/2006 and 04/06/2006) when he was still technically a Rovers player- even though he signed for Scunthorpe on his return to the UK.
So- 4 of Furman's caps came while a Rovers player, as did 6 of Mulligan's.

Many thanks again TRB - that is great info and a solid rationale, which I completely accept. Once again I am in awe of your work and data.

Colin Grainger ( namesake but no relation ) played 7 full internationals for England on the left wing 1956/7 but did not join Rovers until 7 years later and played 40 games for us ( thnx Wiki)

I love the detail of this Eddie Mac CV showing even Frickley Colliery

Luke McCullough played the full game for NI under-21s in their 3-1 defeat in Serbia. (UEFA credited him with an assist on the NI goal).
David Cotterill was again on the bench for Wales in their 1-1 draw in Belgium. Wales sent on Harry Wilson- their youngest ever player- in the dying minutes. I think they were keen to get him capped in a competitive match because he was also eligible for England. Otherwise Cotts might have got a run out.
Jamaica play Honduras later today in Kingston.

Theo Robinson replaced Darren Mattocks after an hour in Jamaica's 2-2 draw with Honduras.
