I cant remember if Reading have a bookmaker in or next to the ground,anyone on here know either way.

Are we going to get this before every away game? £25 is good considering last year they were a premiership team.

You have to see the bigger picture. Away fan participation is dying in our sport, doing something about it is an option that we have to take seriously.

As I wrote a while ago does anyone know if there is a bookmakers in/near the Reading ground

No mate they don't. They have them in the home end but not in the away end.

And iirc there isn't one anywhere near the ground. Bloody grounds in industrial estates and retail parks, grrrrr.......

Ground is 4 miles from town centre/train station. Shuttle buses from just outside station to ground and back again. If you are driving, it is between £8 and £10 near the ground. If I can give anyone a tip. Park in Three Miles Cross at a pub called the swan just off the M4. It is then a twenty minute walk to the ground. You can't miss it, just aim for the wind turbine if you cannot see the ground. Parking near the ground is a nightmare and it will probably take less time to walk back to your car than sit in traffic.
Any questions please ask as I am quite local and spend quite a lot of time in and around the Reading area.

Leeds ticket £36 + £10 travel
Reading ticket £19 + £22 travel
Obviously i agree football is too expensive but im not going to moan about every single away game.

It's £25 though its hardly rip off price, I understand the bigger issue but people complaining at £25 a ticket is sad.

Last time we were there i remember placing a bet, in the away end, on a 4-1 rovers win. I remember because they had to scratch around for the odds. Anyway waste of money it was as a Sullivan cock up led to a reading win.

£30 on the day for adults. This is borderline too much for me - I agree with the Twenty Plenty campaign.
The argument on ticket prices is more of an issue when kids prices etc are too much. I usually go alone, so the fiver difference between £25 and £30 isn't too big a problem really but for a family group prices are tough.
As for the bookies, I wouldn't know, sorry.
I once parked in the shoppers P&R site adjacent to Reading's ground, having arrived late. As I didn't then take the shopping P&R bus into town, it cost nowt. I was surprised this was running on a football day. We drew 0-0...

this is what pisses me off about football supporters. Don't assume cost is based on 1 person. I am 44 and have a 16 yr old that loves rovers.
My costs are not dictated by just me. Tickets plus travel plus food and rink = too much. the biggest outlay being tickets.
what this equates to is less kids/future footy fans not being able to attend matches.
how many kids do you see at away games these days. honestly?
the simple answer is not many.

Don't mean this to sound condescending or anything NR but why not take food from home? saves you quite a bit over the season and for what you pay for food at one match you could probably buy enough stuff to make a dinner for quite a few.

its a fair point about the food. been burnt a few times with drinks though - a lot of grounds don't allow drinks in containers etc.
My issue is ticket prices. especially those for kids.
