no the rabbit trick  was Charlie Williams ... Cavanagh did a 'rainbow lift' with the ball and that was 50 years before RibĂ©ry has just been praised for achieving the expoit at the French National team's training camp  .

I saw Alick do that about the half way line while he was bombing down the Main Stand side towards the Town End. But Alick's was better. he made the ball go up and diagonally backwards over the head of an opposing bloke and land at the feet of a Rovers player inside him who was masked by the defender. I've never seen it done in a match since.

Bob G .. I have never since witnessed the feeling of anticipation of seeing something exceptional as when we had Alick at a 17 r old . When he came back he was still outstanding of course... especially at scoring.
