I picked up a copy of the Evening Standard at Kings Cross tonight to read on the way home.
There was an article in the Sports section about Steve Lomas and Millwall's upcoming game v QPR.
One paragraph said:
Redknapp gave Lomas a glowing recommendation earlier this year and advised Doncaster to appoint him when they were looking for a new manager.
Is/was this common knowledge? I can't remember seeing anything about it.
Did DRFC approach Redknapp for his opinions? Or is he just a self-appointed loudmouth?
-
I would imagine and hope the club do their homework by asking about potential new managers so it is entirely possible.
-
Don't be daft bfyp! Can you imagine JR, or the person(s) in charge of our club writing to Arry(who by his own admission in court is semi-illiterate). A more likely scenario was, "How do you get your dog to be the principal owner of a property potfollio that is losing more than the Dons in in the late 70s/early 80s"
-
JR speaks to a lot of people in the game when appointing managers. Sure I've heard that link before.
-
With the way PD is doing I am certainly glad that JR decided NOT to listen to Redknapp.
-
Chuffing ell lads. I skim read that header and thought it said "Louise Redknapp".
Reight disappointed when I opened the thread.
-
I reckon Redknapp might have had something to do with O'Driscoll being our manager, after all, weren't they at Bournemouth together?

While that could be possible, I think the hammering we received from SOD's Bournemouth made JRs mind up...

Was that the game at BV where we won 4-3?
-
No, the tonking we took on the south coast in L1
-
I think So'D gets too much credit for that tonking - it was more Penney's reluctance to replace a player that was quite clearly injured before it was too late.
-
I don't think it was so much the fact that they beat us 5-0. It was more to do with JR being impressed by how SO'D had built a footballing side on a limited budget.
-
Yes...
...and they tonked us too.
