Just been appointed manager as expected , how long will the under achievers give him?
-
He should have waited he can do better than a mid table league 1 side. I cant see them doing anything this year, probably next year they'll get promoted
-
Prince abdullah , reckons he has enjoyed managerial success in the game, really?
-
I think blades are starting to turn that corner since they ditched weir
With clough Now on board i Expect them to move up out Of the relegation
Mad house, but not so far up to make play offs
-
Interesting question, given the performances of recent Sheff Utd managers, but really, I don't care...
-
I think this is an excellent appointment for SUFC. Someone with bags of experience at the Non league level - there going to need it ;)
COYR
:scarf:
-
He'll be there for 2 seasons, winter and spring.
-
Hopefully he sends them down, doubt it though.
-
I dont Get the negative vises towards sheff utd?
Do some Of you have short memorys,as it was the blades that helped DRFC out with nets and kit so rovers could compete in Their first few games in conference for 1st season as donny did not have a pot to piss in.
Think on next time
-
Oslo, I don't particularly wish any ill will on Sheff Utd or any other team (well maybe MK Dons but let's not go there today...), but I am indifferent to their managerial situation. I am more concerned with our game at Boro tomorrow....

Is it just me who thinks Nigel Clough is overrated?
He was at Derby for 5+ years, and for the fan base Derby have and the chances he had to build his own team(which he did, they've had/have some very good players e.g. Hughes, Martin, Russel etc) I think the highest they finished under him was 9th(?).
-
If he doesnt get them up next year season then he will be for the chop. If he does, and i think he will, he could be there for some time until something bigger and better.
I think he has probably seen pound signs, i would have been holding out for a championship team, such as the boro job that just came up.
-
Good point Sam, didn't Clough snr play there a bit?
-
Unsure IDM, before my time that one.
At first thought i was going to jump at the ''hes making a living off the back of his old mans success'' but he did do a good job at Burton.
Saying that, he never really set Derby alight in the 5 years he was there.
I think the Derby board did right to move him on.
He may just have found a perfect model with Sheff u and the new money bags. however as we all know, the oversees money men dont mind giving out the allan sugar finger.
i guess he cant do any worse than the previous managers at that place.
-
I was being sarcastic, Brian Clough played over 200 games for Boro in the 50's and scored over 200 goals too. Fantastic scoring record which he continued at Sunderland, before being wrecked by injury.
-
Cloughs appointment at Derby was based on sentiment, they thought he'd bring Brians glory years back, if it wasn't for who he was he'd have been sacked 3 years ago
-
41 days. That damned United.
