Did anyone notice J.R. leaving the match on saturday, I left on the full time whistle and he passed me in his car as I was walking past the south stand and he didn't look happy.
-
I'm not surprised he didn't look happy, he'd just seen the team he supports lose 3-1, did you see any Rovers fans with big smiles on the faces at full time, I didn't?
-
must win game on sat against the dingles. if we loose that and other results go against us we would be bottom and facing an uphill battle to not get relegated
-
One game doesn't make or break a season.
We need an up-turn in results but losing the next three games wouldn't be the end of our season.
I'm confident that we'll survive this season, we're not currently playing to our full potential and that in itself gives me hope.
-
I think if we lose the next three games it could quite well be the end of our season. That would be six defeats on the run and we'd be bottom and probably a few points adrift. Confidence would be rock bottom, crowds would fall even further and the fans would get on the players backs even more.
Of course, if we win the next three games................................

Good job you stuck that final line in Frosty!
you would have been lashed and stoned by the ones who wont hear a word against the team!
-
Haha! Yup, I guess so.
To be honest, the way we're playing at the moment we could well lose next week. I watched the Dingles on Sky on Friday night and in the second half they looked a really good team.
And at the risk of getting even more flack, Mvoto looked a class act
-
I must agree, I feel Barnsley will turn us over.
They have some decent players, pretty sure with a better, more experianced manager they would be pushing on further up the table.
-
Your turn to get stoned and lashed now!!
-
Well is nice to hear JR was at the game. He will be upset, his plans to improve the squad fell through. The other two seem indifferent how the club is to progress, which won't be assisting his mood.
Let's hope, although it will not be easy, we can get three points on Saturday before the international break again.
-
I feel for JR, probably as he feels for us. He's rovers through and through so I think he was just as excited at the prospect of some dough as we were!
-
Yes Rovers SAm you are right .. he would have been criticised like hell ... are you another of the gang who think that being positive about life is only for those with grit and balls and that you don't want to be part of it ?

Do they? How do you know?

Not this old chestnut again!
From what information do you draw that conclusion?

I dont quite follow? Im a realist and when my team lose it gets me down, I hate the fact I cannot watch them every game due to ticket prices.
but I refuse to just keep paying my ticket fees and getting to see a shambolic performance. (the wednesday game for instance, we got the three points but damn was it a hard game to watch, such a shocking performance in the first half).
I realise we cant win all the time but somethimes its easy to walk away upset and angry, especially when you have the likes of JR and TM urging new investors to step in only for the KM2 to shatter our inner child like dreams of having some money to use.
-
I don't know about any one else but I'm living the Rovers dream! :scarf:
Playing championship football is as good as it has ever been for our club, we have NEVER played at a higher level in our history - cheer up! :woot:
-
Yawn

Did you see some of the crap we played at home last season?
-
Without John Ryan we wouldn't be anywhere near where we are,The Championship is a great league, but no harm in having dreams of experiencing The Premiership, the money we could get from one year up their would if spent right, make us a very strong set up,personally i was relieved when the takeover didn't happen, there wasn't enough info, but A Hedge fund company didn't sound good to me,but if someone come in with similar aspirations to John, and were interested why not?

Doing an all right job of it would be better though!

Yes, I noticed he left with 1 or 2 minutes still to play.
I thought that maybe he had some stew in the slow cooker.
On a change of subject, does anyone know who occupies the box to the right of the Directors?

I guess Ryan has achieved his aim. He's turned us into such a big club that we now attract folk who complain that we don't win Tier 3 titles playing like Barcelona.
We've just had one of the 6-7 best seasons in our 134 year history and STILL some folk can do nowt but moan. What exactly do you want from football?
-
There are too many people happy to finish 21st, id be one of them if it wasnt that the way we are currently going is bottom three by Christmas.
But never mind, the last 127 years have been worse so that makes the present all okay...

yes, yes it does.

well only if you have been around to see the last 127 years.
Our current performances and operations of the club are only relative to what you know...

I think that last reply answers a few questions.

So what if we are in the bottom 3 by Christmas? I think to come up into a division with (historically) big clubs with even bigger wage budgets with the aim of survival then you're bound to end up in the bottom 3 at some point. Leroy Lita was on the bench for Brighton - I dread to think how much they're paying him. The term punching above our weight doesn't do our situation justice in this instance.
-
:headbang:
I give in.
-
:headbang:
I give in.
Why - all I'm saying is we're playing in a ridiculously tough division with a respective playing budget that would give some "chequebook managers" a nervous breakdown. By you saying you'd accept 21st you're obviously of the opinion that survival is the key aim and we are therefore going to be involved in a relegation battle. Which, if we are, would mean we'll be around the bottom 6 for much of the season and may at some point drop into it. We've been rock bottom at Christmas before and climbed out of it with aplomb.
-
The last 2 performances suggest we will get relegated, before Middlesbrough we have been good enough. Even against Reading until we went down to 9 men. (Bennett came on)
-
:headbang:
I give in.
And, sadly, so did most of our players in the last three games. :chair:

Last 1.5 to be honest. I thought we did OK second half on Saturday, until the 2 late sucker punches...
-
So based on the last two performances we're gonna get relegated. Fair to say then that based on the performances against Blackburn, Wigan & Leicester we're gonna get promoted yay !!!
Of course there's gonna be ups and downs all season & as others have said probably more downs but aint that all part of being a Rovers fan?
We're a pub team playing in the second tier, get a grip & enjoy the ride :rtid:
-
lets face it. long hard season ahead. the warning signs are there. No strength in depth, talisman getting injured pre-match, garbage performance in front of the cameras again. even macheda got injured and had to go.
its the rovers way. 4th bottom will be just fine :)
-
No team starts a season just settling for finishing just above the relegation zone,Paul Dickov has said before he's aiming for more than that,,but if we finished fourth bottom, though they wouldn't be doing a tour of the Town,it would be a very decent season,we have to stabalise before we move forward,Dickov with the money he's had has recruited well, and we've still got De Val and Forrester to add to the mix,Forrester struck me as a very talented footballer, against Chelsea and a few other games,he had some good performances.
The league we are in is the most unpredictable league in Europe, try picking a treble in this league and you'll see what i mean, the Reading game we were in it till Jones went off,and we just didn't have enough players on form to compete in the Middlesbrough&Brighton games, there was always going to be a lull in form, though admittedly i didn't see it being against those two teams,i think a contributing factor is the smallness of the squad compared to others, and the loss of Macheda upset the dynamics of the team,we are not a good enough team to be able to cope with over half the team off form.
The next two games if we are in the right frame of mind are ideal for us,one result and it all changes again,we can get four points at least from these games.
-
Barnsley are starting to turn the screw a little and have had three decent results of late,
I feel they have another 3 to come against us, milwall and brum.
decent teamsheet, just unsure about flitcroft.
-
And you know this how?
-
Clone of Mad Mick?
-
Do you live next door to him by any chance?

Seems like I was indeed not the only one to walk away angry and upset at times after todays episodes.

seemingly the same as John Ryan
