In a fit of nostalgia I have tried to find a pic of one of those cream coloured enamelled Fire ranges that every body had in their home, has antbody got a link to one?
-
My old gran always used to have a pot of tea brewing on the hotplate of one of those things, everything went in that oven for fuel

Its not what you want I know but this is a 20s model
I searched for open fire cooking range on Google images and there are loads but none that matched the one in our old house "that did everything"
http://www.teara.govt.nz/en/photograph/38519/shacklock-orion-range-in-action-1920s
Edit .... this is VERY close to what I remember but we did have a "thing" that the kettle could sit on and also store the Poker etc

The second one was what we had in our house in Rosso when i was growing up.

Thanks very much Donny Wolf the second one was about 95% similar to my Mums, they had a moveable trivet on each side of the fire which you could swivel on and off mainly to boil your Copper Kettle on.
