They get paid for that shite! I've seen better on a school playing field!
-
Fully agree - no guts!
-
School teams get support from the board
I decided to give this game a miss and thank the lord I did
-
Quite pleased to be laid out at home with me knackered back by the sound of it,
-
Goodbye PD.
I'll drink to that. Get Saunders back!
-
This performance has got nothing to do with support from the board etc it is down to what we have done wrong all season and that is piss poor defending, lack of creativity and someone to score on a regular basis. The goals from forester and Wakefield have papered over some of the cracks that have been there all season

We're certainly missing Jones. I don't care what anyone says about his ability, he has invaluable leadership and organisational skills. Plus he's the kind of guy you'd want next to you in the trenches.

Would he want 3 relegations in 3 seasons on his CV? ;)
-
Excuses after excuse . PD is the man in charge if he can't put out a team to beat a bottom league 1 side . He need to leave now! He knew this was important to us and the board.
He put out our strongest team. Our strongest team wasn't good enough. Hardly Dickov's fault.
-
Sums cotts up perfectly how does he start and foresters on the bench , have a word with yourself Dickov !!!

How isn't it? He's the man who forms this team and they're by and large not performing. We're good against teams who don't fight us but fight us and we're soft.

Because Forrester is lacking in fitness, perhaps?
-
:headbang:since 1969 give the man the tools and he can do the job ,but if the directors hide the tools how can he ,you can only play the cards you have got . In PD cases not a lot
-
You do know our wage bill is quite large don't you? Miles bigger than Stevenage too.

And Cotterill has no spine.

Try eating soup with a fork 1969! You'll get the principle!

I'm assuming you didn't go the QPR game then because to be fair to Cotts he put a shift in then and deserved to keep his place for today but he needs to do it with more consistency and not perform like he did at QPR once every 15 games.

Cotterill found his level last season, League One, the step up in class his too much for him, it means he has to work!

Maybe he wouldn't, but at least he'd get more out of this rubbish that we call a Championship team than PD. Bring Saunders back!
-
The players who were available today should have been able to acquit themselves better today they are supposed to be championship players.no excuses. For today's poor performance today. The second goal was a replica of so many this season.look at the amount of goals we have let in.speaks for itself.

Couldn't agree more actually. At least Saunders teams had a bit of fight and spirit.
-
We have now lost the two on field Generals one injured one maybe going elsewhere. Therefore lack of on field leadership.
A part from the goalkeeper all the players today are average league 1 players at best.
But it as been said earlier, we are a pub club so everyone can laugh.

Snap
My back went again yesterday so I'm laid up again

There is a point when you have to realise Dickov has to take the blame. Yes he is short at the back, but other than that, that was more or less the team that won the league Stevenage are bottom of this year. It's not good enough to play an opposition of that level at home, and be outdone on shots and corners.
I'm afraid we are a side with no guts, heart, creativity or responsibility.
I can buy the excuse of a thin squad when we are playing QPR and other good standard championship opposition. But not against Stevenage. I don't really like knee jerk decisions, but at the end of the day PD has brought in his own signings and loans, so the buck has to stop with him at some point. It's clear morale is at a critically low level, and it's looking like its either the board get their hands in their pockets and bring in at least 3 new players. Or PD goes now and we have a chance of rallying round.
-
Bloody rubbish, bring back National Service!
-
You can understand us losing to teams in the Championship because most of them have loads more money and better players than us, Stevenage though?
-
I am not defending the team but simply from an observation today it looks like it was a game too far for some of the team. They gave their all at QPR after already playing 4 games in just over a week and from where I was sat today it told. Some of the younger players such as wakefield and forrester haven't played for weeks and then drop for 4 or 5 games in 2 weeks. Some of the senior players were just as knackered and this is where the squad system pays dividends if they are not all injured. I am going to give them the benefit of the doubt today as all lower league teams raise their games in the cup and hope that next week against Blackburn its a case of the cup dream is over lets get out of this corner we are in and get up the league a bit. Could be worse I bet its a good night out in Rochdale tonight !!!!
-
You can excuse players for lack of skill, what you can't excuse is not showing some bottle, fighting spirit & passion. PD has to take some of the blame for that absolute shambles. Today was the perfect opportunity to progress in the competition & make some much needed cash, not to mention give us supporters a win to shout about. I worry that if PD can't motivate his team for a 3rd round cup tie, albeit a scratch side, then I really fear for us. Any other higher placed club would have been all over the opposition like a rash had they gone behind, not us, we were an embarassment from start to finish.
-
I dont go very often, but took advantage of a very good offer to take the lad today. Looking round a fair few of the 3899 had done the same, so this was a chance to get a few kids hooked with a decent cup tie, now that was never going to be easy with the opposition set up but still we should have been clever enough to beat them.
Confidence is low granted and there seemed to be a serious lack of leadership and ideas throughout the side we only ran at them two or three times and scored once yet no one really took the game on to get a morale boosting win
Amazingly though he wants to come back to the Wigan game!
-
They get paid for that shite! I've seen better on a school playing field!
Filo, which is exactly what I said after the Ipswich match.
But, improvement at QPR was marked and then this garbage.
I remember Welling and Hayes away but it's still hard to take
#rtid

I don't think it'll ever get worse than that away fixture at Sutton.

The book as to stop with the manager today. I half expected us to have a real go at them today with maybe a 4-4-2 formation but instead all we got was a negative set up against a really poor team. It's the Fa cup for gods sake and we were at home, so why not go for it from the off, after all we did have the better players. I could understand us just thumping the ball up to browny at every opertunity if it was a championship game and we were just trying to knick a goal while keeping it tight at the back but today i expected so much more. There was no tempo and no imagination to our play which is a real worry against a really poor team

If you are criticising the quality of the players lets not forget there was plenty of fans calling for us to sign players doing well in the leagues below yet when we have done all the fans have done is moan they aren't good enough
