Title: Turnbull's booking
Post by: swintonrover on January 05, 2014, 08:43:00 am
Anybody else thought he was incredibly lucky not to walk for that tackle at the end? Last Man, DOGSO it appeared to me.

I thought so - poor refereeing.

Yeah for sure. Ref was poor all game, we had at least 3 penalty appeals that should have been given... from my view anyway. I will say this though, incredible tackle! hahah loved it

We would have been annoyed had he did that to the Stevenage keeper. Maybe we got lucky with a referee for once. Typical looking after the big team eh  ;)

I THINK he thought Stevenage were the "big" Team throughout

I missed the Turnbull incident as I had sneaked out for (only) the second time ever but sounds like the Ref made another howler.

He started by not blowing for a foul on Cotts in the first couple of minutes and stayed pretty crap the whole game (or the 90 mins I saw anyway)

A suspect that the FA had a list of referees for the third round and the conversation went like this:  Donny v Stevenage, that's the crappest-looking tie - which of these refs is the most incompetent?

As soon as he charged out I knew he was in trouble. Once he made the challenge I put my head in my hands.  Thought it was a certain red.  Damned relieved to see the yellow card shown though.

The only thing for me that I thought saved him a red was how wide the man had taken it with his touch with a defender running back towards goal. But he clearly hadn't seen Freeman belting down the left wing.

On the subject of RT - pleased to see him come for crosses yesterday
Now if only we can get Jones back to sort out the defence at set pieces

Only a yellow for me, he may have been the last man but he was to far out for it to be a direct threat to goal and technically there player was heading towards the left wing at the time he was taken out and other players were getting back.

I was sat in SS and it looked a straight red but couldn't see how many were getting back so I weren't sure, I'm sure I then saw him and a Stevenage player (Darius Charles?) pushing each other which convinced me more so that he was gonna walk.

Not like us to get away with it...

They don't get wiped out, we are now at another level. Suspensions for five bookings finished at the start of the new year. The next suspension is for ten bookings and that goes up to about the first week in April.
