Ireland won only one medal at the 1948 London Olympics, what for?

Well done to all of you who guessed/cheated. From 1912 until 1948 the Olmpic Games had a category for Art. Letita Hamilton won Ireland's only medal at these games with her entry 'The Meath Point-to-Point Races' in the oil paintings category.
