Well done the Belles.
-
Excellent result. Well done Belles
-
Great result .. good start Mr Staniforth .. let's get these Belles back to the Top .
-
Yep, well done girls, really hope you can get back to the top div soon and ram that appalling decision down the league bosses throats.
-
Aye, and good job Carl Lygo, too!
-
4th round drawn at home to Copsewood Coventry
-
Yep think it's all been said already but delighted for the Belles and still angry over 'that' appalling decision to demote them.
-
time to make them eat their words - well done the belles
-
Good away win that against a side that will be in the same division this coming season, and a favourable draw for the next round too.
Win that and they could find themselves with an early chance for revenge against one of the FAWSL1 sides. Manchester City at home anyone?
-
(Wo)Man City at home would be great and swell the crowd with extra fans expressing support and anger at the usurpers.
-
Please excuse my ignorance but is there any provision to get back in top league or is it purely franchised ?
-
Places in the FA Women's Super League were, in effect, franchised with clubs having to apply to be part of the set-up.
Initially there were just 8 places in one tier of the Super League. Belles were one of them, it ran for 3 seasons.
For 2014 the FA have added more teams and split the Super League into two divisions - the FAWSL1 (top tier) and FAWSL 2 (second tier). The Belles have been demoted and plAced in FAWSL2.
There will be promotion/relegation between these two divisions so the Belles do have a chance of getting back in the very top flight. That however could be dependent on assurances that they will meet criteria for the top division in terms of finance/attendances/facilities as well as actually performing well in FAWSL2.
