Get a job in the public sector. The pay is better and the perks are infinitely better. By the time all the perks and benefits are added in such as final salary pension schemes then you are going to be much better off in the public sector.

Make your mind up!!
I have just left a job in the public sector to become a guitar teacher.
Should I change back again.
Please can you give me some more words of wisdom, or are you too busy strumming(one off).

Most final salary pensions have been phased out. If you started working after April 2007 as teacher you no longer qualify for final salary pension and after April 2008 in the NHS the same rule change. Can't comment for the rest of the public sector though

Hang on, weren't you a big advocate of cutting the public sector back?

The pay in the public sector is "infinitely" higher than in the private sector.
I'm surprised the deficit is as low as it is then in that case.

Yes he was!

I still am! Doesn't mean people shouldn't take advantage of what's currently on offer.
