Decent enough manager and another ridiculous sacking
-
Not his fault he was working with shit players
-
Makes no difference, we need to look after ourselves in respect of points gained. We don't play Charlton so any effect on them of a managerial change can't lose us any points.
-
He's a good bloke, they've got no money so he was hindered. If you can't change the players, changing the manager is the only option.

True Gaz but I wager he will have a similar position within 3 months + the compo.
The current manager 'merry go round' is proving very lucrative for most if not all sacked managers and yet another drain on the clubs finances.

Maybe there should be a "sacking window" for managers
-
Charlton have been the worst team I have seen at the Keepmoat this season!
Oh, and if you didn't know, they have three more points this season than they actually should!
I hate Charlton Athletic after this season and I hope this is going to be the demise of them!
-
Jeez, anyone would think they'd murdered your goldfish or something....
I think the effect it will have on their run in will very much depend on his relationship with the players and what they feel about his sacking.
-
Good news, sacking a manager late on in the season to try and stay up never works.
-
They've appointed someone from the AC Milan youth setup apparently.

More likely his goldfish swam away at The Valley!

Worked for Sunderland last year.

And Barnsley?

Good news for us I think, awful timing and how someone like this Riga bloke will come in ready for an immediate relegation scrap is beyond me. Fans will not be happy either.
-
I hear they've appointed Hector Riva, the Euromillions lottery playboy millionaire.

Good article in one of the papers this morning on how Charlton's owner also owns a number of small clubs in Belgium , Spain , Prague and appears to be using them as feeder clubs for Standard Liege and this is what Powell was against and was subsequently sacked . Their new manager also appears to have some odd ideas .
Doesn't bode well , methinks !
