Title: Nottingham Forest v TLO Doncaster
Post by: bobjimwilly on March 14, 2014, 11:33:50 am
Copps and Billy are no strangers to the City Ground – both have spent time on loan there in the past. But they spent more time warming the bench than actually showing Forest fans what they could do – let’s hope the finally see how could they can be this weekend...

Rovers are 8/5 double chance, might lump a bit on that. Sharp to score anytime 11/4, 7/2 for Browny and 7/1 for copps! Some good odds there.

Just been on their forum and this is the list one of them has drawn up to replace Davies;

Di Matteo
Clarke
Laudrup
Mackay
Clough / Pearce
Howe

What planet are they on?

Can't get any of the live streams up.  The only one that connects is totally obscured by pop-ups that wont close and just take you to the dreaded downloads.

Not that much under the cosh. Davies in the touch line apparently ok as they are appealing.

Sounds like the ref is a homer judging by cheap free kicks being given and non in our direction.

Got another stream going, we're looking very dangerous on the break but so are Forest.  Could go either way, but at least we're competing.

Encouraging first half and results going our way. Hopefully we can win this second half (we have a good chance as I am not there today)

Eddie Ilderton not great. Browny got a whack in the face - nothing given. Two corners not given. Forest just shaded it but we are in it. Cotterill having to cut back on to his right foot a lot, which loses momentum at times...

0-0 at half time, not bad result

Seem to be playing well, but I think half time came too soon as we were just getting into our stride. If we can carry that momentum into the second half who knows, we could steal it.

I thought Duffy's shot got a touch for a corner, and Keegan's was a clear tackle!

Commentator is doing my head in on this stream.

"Coppinger is the only Rovers player who will remember playing at Belle vue" - Chris Brown?

"Brown has scored 10 goals for Rovers in the league, first time in 10 years" He has scored 8, you could say 10 if you count Charlton but earlier on he also said:

"Keegan is yet to score a professional league goal, he did score in the 3-1 game at Charlton but didn't count as the game was abandoned"
Title: Re: Nottingham Forest v TLO Doncaster
Post by: pib on March 15, 2014, 04:18:14 pm
John Helm is a legendary commentator. He's made a few mistakes here though, you're right.

Has Brown got as many as eight? FL stats say 6.

Brown has 7 in total doesn't he?

Keegan scored at Notts Co away last season. I was there.

Yep he did score last season.

Plus, Brown scored 11 last season didn't he? So he's not a decade without 10 goals in a season.

At least all of the other results are going our way:
Sheff Wed 4 - 0 Birmingham
Watford 3 - 0 Barnsley
QPR 2- 0 Yeovil
Milwall 0 - 0 Charlton

And Leicester have equalised against Blackpool.

I'd take a draw, a win would be nice though!

Although we did get some good chances in the second half, going and getting a point and clean sheet from any team up there with Forest is a credible result. We may have only got 1 point but our chance of survival all of a sudden looks a lot more greater.

Good point. Fair play to Dickov and the team. We looked solid from what I saw there.

Impressed with Johnstone, Quinn, Coppinger and Cotterill in particular.

A great point, especially with the other results.

Also, apart from not scoring, a very good performance with lots of attacking intent.  Seemed quite an open entertaining game with chances for both sides, so very encouraging for us.  At least we weren't under pressure for the whole game as we could have been/

I'll take that.

Johnstone will be world class. Excellent keeper. Quinn was great. Browny excellent. I thought Cotts was a bit hit and miss. Need a natural left footer on the left flank IMO - he went for the glory goal when easier options were on. Just an observation and not getting down on Cotts at all. Husband still a little raw, but great potential. Richie and Keegan were solid. Billy probably should have had a goal but on another day....

Think we created the better chances.  Billy looked more like his former self.  Missed a good chance with the header but from the camera behind the goal it looked like he was impeded by the defender.
Tough chance TBH.

I thought it was a half chance.  A close game we could have won, but didn't deserve to lose so the draw is ok.
