That's what the thread is titled. I agree. Institution he was.

super Colin Douglas.
-
would have been a fantastic touch if JR had presented it him.

Sorry, got to disagree with that.
Copps deserved to take the limelight on this achievement not JR
-
Great touch to see 2 legends, in my lifetime anyway, together.
-
Colin Douglas Legend ,I think he was touched by the response he got when walked to his seat in front of the home fans towards the East stand, Colin Douglas Legend . James Coppinger Legend , fitting response from the Keepmoat crowd to another Legend
-
I Saw Duggie near the end of his career, the leg's had gone a bit then, but the effort he put in,in that Scarborough game that we won 4-3 was amazing,he's the kind of fella who deserves a job at the club.

I think the club got this one dead right.
One fantastic club servant making the presentation to the other.
Pity we didn't get the result the occasion deserved.

Did the announcer introduce Duggie to the fans and make a fuss of him?
I could only see Copps receiving his plaque and then waving.
-
Yeah I did but it was drowned out by general noise for the two of them!
I also introduced a fella who'd had a season ticket for over 50 years too who had been selected to represent all our long serving fans - it was quite manic to be fair in that last 5 mins yesterday!
-
Thought it was ment to be a minutes applause in the 26th min for him aswell

I don't think enough was made of Duggie, unless it was before I got there.
We had all that rubbish about Birmingham but I didn't here anything much about the player that has made the most appearances for the club.
Okay, maybe the announcer thought we should all know him but there would have been lots of people there who didn't even see him play.
I'm sorry but I thought it was poorly done.
It shouldn't have been left, and rushed, until just before the kick off - and the presentation should have just been Douglas to Copps.
I think Copps thought the season ticket holder was Duggie at first!
-
I agree - I wish I could've made more of duggie - I wanted to do the whole copps/duggie thing at 2:30 but the ref wanted otherwise unfortunately!

Why did the ref need to get involved at 2.30?
-
He didn't need to be involved then Dave - there were lots of other press related stuff going on that Duggie was attending, Copps was also in pre-match mode - and ref pulled rank about the timescale of the actual presentation. It was pretty weird to be fair - it could've been done earlier and more effectively in my opinion - but at the end of the day there was also a match to prepare for!
Me - i try and do what I'm asked! LOL

There was? loads of people gave a standing ovation and his name was certainly sung in the South Stand. Don't really know how you could miss it...
-
Think you will find that was the 27th min
-
The applause hap
It doesn't matter, Copps got his tribute as the clock passed 26...
-
The applause happened in the 27th minute if you're being pedantic.

-
Heard you 1st time but was just saying
-
I heard that all of the pedants had a meeting and agreed to start the applause as the clock hit 25.
It all went wrong because as usual they were more interested in criticising something than actually doing anything. ;) :scarf:
