We could have kept onto macheda.
Macheda is everything you would want billy sharp to be (from a goal scoring perspective that is).
For what it's worth I think rovers will stay up.
We really are overdue a proven and regular goal scorer though.
And I am talking about a 20 plus per season type goal scorer.
-
which is what Sharp is
we have to lose some games
-
20 plus per season, every season, with the same club, I should add.
-
Sharp's touch looked awful today, although the state of the pitch doesn't help.
-
All our players seemed to do was after recieving a slow rolled pass was chip it up and then fanny around getting it under control with every pass. Basic.
-
I can't understand why Cotterill takes forever and a day to lay off to Husband when it's clear he's making a bombing run forward.
-
Cotterill doesn't like passing to anybody, but especially Duffy.
-
Duffy was off the pace today and knew it, dont think he was fit. We had no answer to their 8 ft walking foul machine either without Meite. Without the mistakes sure we would have won that as they werent good enough to do it by themselves
-
To be fair to Duffy he wouldn't have been on the pitch but for Meite's injury.
-
thats what I meant Rob, hes obviously not meant to have played and done his best but the squads limitations were there to see 2nd half, they came out to play ugly and we didnt have the guile to stop them, even so still could have won bar their keeper having a blinder
-
Agree there. We missed Wellens for his guile and his ability to scrap with the best of them. Their keeper had a great game. A bad day at the office for a few players onwards and upwards.

I agree too.
It doesn't help that we missed the three best opportunities of the game. That's the way it goes sometimes.
-
Not sure I agree their keeper had a blinder. All those chances went straight at him. Any keeper who failed to keep them out would rightly be given some right stick.
-
I disagree, Neill's header at the start of the second half brought out a great save...

Well he wasn't that type of player when he ended his spell with us. He was a sulk who moped around complaining about being played out of position and getting no service. He might have had a point but, for all his talent, he also had a big attitude problem. Now that he's playing with a 'bigger' club that employs bean poles on £70k a week he's happy to turn it on. My question is "Ferdi lad why couldn't tha' do it for us"?

Sorry, but if he's named in the 18 he should be ready to play. If he'd been a sub one of the wide men could have gone down in the first minute and he'd have been on.
I thought he was awful today and I really think Coppinger should be back in that wide-right role on Tuesday. If Meite isn't fit then draft McCullough in to the defence.

Sharp is a goalscorer. Simple as that. He and Macheda are 2 VERY different footballers and shouldn't be compared IMO. Macheda is more technically gifted and Sharp is more a fox in the box type striker. Back to goal I think he would'nt get in our Sunday side but turning up in the right place at the right time he is brilliant. All in all if I was given the choice of the 2 I would choose Billy every time.
