Title: Rovers v Derby County- 18/04/14- Simon Hooper
Post by: The Red Baron on April 14, 2014, 06:56:36 pm
Doncaster Rovers FC (First Team) v Derby County FC (First Team)
Football League Championship
Referee: Hooper, Simon
Assistant Referee: Dwyer, Mark
Assistant Referee: Mainwaring, James
Fourth Official: Eltringham, Geoff

I wasn't impressed by this chap's handling of the Bournemouth game at all, but I've seen him have decent games in the past. For those who want a preview, he's reffing the Reading v Leicester game tonight.

Wonder who will be the first to shout "Don't panic, Mr Mainwaring!" at the lino?

I thought he had a reasonable game at Reading last night. Hope he continues on Friday and doesn't acquire a dose of "big club syndrome."

He missed a clear penalty for Reading and also got a couple of corners wrong

Two main criticisms- he bottled the pull-back by Buxton on Robinson, which would have meant a red card. Also he didn't deal strongly enough with Derby's time wasting, which they started as soon as the second half began. Otherwise he wasn't too bad.
