The person who decided to put traffic light on this roundabout has a special rung in HELL reserved for them, and I hope they burn in agonising PAIN for the rest of eternity.
It's turned it from a free flowing roundabout with absolutely no congestion, to a bottle neck traffic shit storm.
f**kING KitsonS!!!!!!!!!!

You might want to make certain of that shit storm with one of these...

Agree its kin awful now.
There was nothing wrong with how it was working before, total utter waste of money... oh yeh end of financial year springs to mind "lets get it spent before they reduce next years money even more"
-
I think someone got a bargain price for traffic lights , as there is one every 50m or so near the train station even though they are not needed.
-
Agree, the one at Warmy roundabout is the biggest waste of money ever. At first I thought they were going to be part time lights which wouldn't have been AS bad, but even then I couldn't see the need.
It's a ridiculous place to put them, with no purpose. There's never any accidents (rarely) on that stretch and congestion is as normal as you would have expected anywhere at certain times.
Whichever genius planned that must have dreamt it during a nightmare in which he woke up covered in his own shit, the nightmare in question caused by him passing out following a failed asphyxi-w**k and being rimmed by his Alsatian (which was probably rabid)!!
... Only explanation!!

Traffic lights = money spinners. They're probably more in abundance these days so local authorities can exploit drivers, with the theory that the more there are of them, the more times motorists will drive through them illegally.
The cost of installing them will be paid back in no time, and the profit brought in after will prove to be a fantastic investment.
They are anything but a waste of money!
-
Not to mention the poorer fuel economy we get and more pollution they cause.
-
it just doesn't make any sense why they've done it?
-
I went round it today for first time since traffic lights were switched on. What a pain.
Never been held up on it before but today a long lorry coming off the A1 southbound had joined the roundabout but couldn't move cos the next lights were on red. It had blocked both carriageways and couldn't move until the next set of lights changed to green.
Absolute waste of money!

... but most I see don't have Cameras (do these) and even then motorists just drive through Red Lights with no consideration for anyone
It seems these days that a Green Light means "go" Amber means speed up cos the lights may go red soon and Red still means "go" if you are going to be delayed even by a second on your precious journey - or you have been delayed at the Lights which were Green but you could not get through
Also why do so many people get in their cars in a morning and straight away "check their mobiles" for Text messages or make calls. FFS why did they not do it BEFORE moving off ?
-
No cameras, but they have cocked up a perfectly good free running roundabout, I came through just before 3pm today from town queueing traffic because of the lights, you always expected a bit of a queue about 5 but never at that time, absolute waste

Some one in the councils traffic management department likes traffic lights. From the old Southern bus station roundabout past the railway station and through the tunnel to St Georges Bridge roundabout there are 6 sets of traffic lights, in a quarter mile stretch, no wonder Donny is gridlocked during rush hour!
-
... in Donny's case THERE IS light at the end of the Tunnel
-
The one thing about this roundabout was it was becoming difficult for traffic exiting the A1 at busy times. I suspect this is why the traffic lights are in there but they have created a problem.

May be the reason but then why do they not make the lights "part time" as at some MW Junctions ? Surely better only to use them when needed

It wasn't difficult really though, they have made it harder now they have put the lights in. It's added 5/10 mins on everyone's journey.
I'll give them 6 months before they tear them down, when they realise their own stupidity.
Is there an address or number that a can contact to complain?
