Not my words but heard someone saying this on the way out!
OMG how deluded are some of our fans

We lost tonight because we aren't good enough to compete with TLO Derby.
But we are good enough to beat TLO Birmingham, Barnsley etc
-
I didn't think Derby were that good, didn't really have us on the ropes through the game. They just took their chances and the first goal wasn't even a chance!

I'm with you, I genuinely thought we were the better side, we just lacked a bit of a cutting edge up front. Derby's first goal came out of nothing, but if you want to be critical of it, I think our failure to close down in the build up cost us. Their second came from a top quality cross from Ward, I can only think of one other save that Johnstone had to make, and that was when their guy was one on one.

Walking out and an old bloke goes " bloody garbage".. wtf. Harsh or what?..
-
We played well enough and competed honestly. I think Derby just had that bit extra quality. No shame in that, considering the 2 squads and the 2 clubs.
I thought a draw or 1-0 loss would have been just. There 2nd came because we were wide open chasing an equaliser.
The players put a shift in, with Cotts, Copps and Brown topping the work rate charts

Not closing down quick enough cost us the game. Their first was almost a carbon copy of the Bolton goal the other week

Agree with all that - just a pity we don't "go for it" when we get possession and instead tend to slow it down and let them regain their defensive positions
The twice we "went for it" resulted in Copps being rugby tackled out wide and a Yellow Card should have put that Player under more pressure that in did AND the through ball to Theo who was being held back blatantly which shamefully was not punished with the Free Kick and Red Card it deserved

AS one bloke was muttering as he went out "if you don't shoot, you don't score"
Can someone tell me how many SHOTS on goal we had last night!
Apart from the chance for Theo in the 2nd half did their keeper have to make a save from a direct shot on goal?

There was a couple of headers on target but no actual shots.

no one should score against us from the position of their first goal when we're playing Furman and Keegan. Thats their job.

I agree, but both of them are sitting on top of the back four.

Once Derby got their noses in front they kept 6 players behind the ball. Its always going to be hard to get back into it with a well drilled defensive plan like that. Having said that, if Billy had got anything at all on that mishit shot of Cotts' we'd have been 1-1 and tails up.
