Before the madness of the next few weeks really kicks in tomorrow I thought it only right to thank the above two gents for their contribution to the club and congratulate them on the successes they have had in their time at the club.
Whatever your views about JR and their relationship with him they came in at a time to help him and the club out, backed us financially, managed the situation with dignity and integrity and made us sustainable as a business. All this with little or no personal gain.
From me it's a big thanks. :rtid:

Yes me too...I hope they will be remembered for putting a lot in and taking nothing out...true Gents who have shown great integrity when taking grief they didn't deserve..

Of course they deserve a massive vote of thanks. Without them we wouldn't have had the financial stability whilst achieving the on the field success we've had.
It's a serious pity that the detractors chose to make them so unwelcome. Certain supporters kept insisting they were only here to capitalise on the stadium and the land that surrounded it. So, now they are virtually gifting the club what happened to their ulterior motives?
Thinking about that they deserve more than a vote of thanks. I'm sure we can think of something.
Edit. I do hope Dicks operation was successful and that he's recovering well.

Don't be too harsh Olso, there was another thread a few weeks back, tabling thanks to Terry& Dick. (Even the 'Other channel' have acknowledged their contribution)

A massive thank you from me Terry & Dick for everything you have done for Rovers. We would not have had the ride to the Championship without you. :)

It's a big thankyou from me, don't know where we would be today without their input, & I am sure they would have made certain everything was going to be financially ok before passing the club over to someone else, all the very best to them both.

Some of us just didn't recognise how lucky we were. A huge thank you to both of them .
Regaining Championship status ( tier 2 ) was very much down to these fellas and I won't forget that.

Yes another thanks from me. I think the fact that they have acted with integrity previously, and constantly proved that they have the best interests of the club at heart, is the main reason I am sure the new set up is good for the club.

Terry and Dick put a massive amount of money into Rovers even though initially they were not big footie people, because they made their fortunes in Donny and wanted to put smiles on the faces of the town. That sounds saccharine but basically it's true.
Without their guidance and steady hands on the tiller, we'd have not had the great ride of the last eight years or so.
And they acted with class, despite of all of the shit, the banners, the smear campaigns and utter farce at times. They simply rose above it.
Brilliant work. Thank you gents.

A big vote of thanks from me. I think it would be appropriate for the club to offer them some token of appreciation- such as honorary life membership or vice-president status.

A big thank you from me as well, two true gentlemen who ran a business how it should be run. Wishing them both the best of health for a long time.

Same here - lots tend to forget that they were actually around plugging the gaps. They did a great job last season too when JR left of putting together extra faces in January in an attempt to stay up

I hope these messages of support can be passed on to Terry and Dick in some way.
Thank you both. You came into our club and alongside JR took us to a level I had previously only dreamt about. I particularly appreciated the quiet, unassuming way you went about your business and the professionalism and integrity you showed in what were very challenging circumstances last season.
I truly hope that the club can carry on with the same values at the forefront of the operation. Success is what we all want but everyone has a different idea what success actually is. What Terry and Dick and Gavin were building was, for me, a successful club on and off the pitch and one which recognised the purpose and value to a community of a successful football club. Let's hope that does not get overlooked in the rush for purely on pitch success.

Often misunderstood, misrepresented and unjustly criticised and yet they maintained their integrity throughout.

You and folk like you have helped drive out two decent men that never owed anything to this club.
One day you will learn to be magnanimous in SUCH A HOLLOW victory and will rue the actions that like-minded folk such as you carried out to force the real money men that this club once needed out of the door.
There is no need to make such assertions about people that recognise their massive contributions unlike you.
Sometimes it is better to write nothing otherwise I and others will be inclined to bring up post after post where you have arse licked JR . I take it you have been offered the post of master of the bedpan in the cabinet reshuffle :ohmy:

They said, I believe, that they were happy to run things but would look at any serious potential takeovers/investment with the due respect it deserved.
It seems to me that they agreed for a potential takeover/investment by JR/LT with the respect they said they would.
If it hasn't worked or isn't viable, then I assume they'll remain in control will they not?
All ifs, buts and maybes - but that seems pretty reasonable!

Hurray, I didn't even have to wait until Monday to realise it was all a bad dream! Terry and Dick are still in charge and hopefully once the season starts we can just get on with supporting the team!
