Taking the biscuit now.

Obviously confident in his quality.
-
who?
-
And another one where the football club have the option to extend it. Power in the hands of the club and a carrot for the player - how it should be.

Understand there will be an option of a further year in the Evina deal.
-
He should be the type of player we are giving 3 year deals to. Has played plenty of games, is young. Now if he does well he's gone for free next summer.
-
Hello, option to extend.....
-
Taking the biscuit now.
Not without paying a transfer fee I hope!
-
How do these things work though? I assume the player has the right to turn down the extension, or does he? Genuine question as I'm really not sure.
-
Still not 3 years though is it. And also if Evina doesn't want to sign it what happens then? or does he have to sign it?
-
I agree an option to extend is how it should be but it's not signing players on longer term contracts is it, like we were told it will be..
At the minute we have a load of players potentially leaving in the summer, which is what the club wanted to "move away from"
-
At least its a decent player anyway. Just don't like been told bs.
-
Hello, option to extend.....
He will get a guaranteed extra year if he plays so many games. It's a pathetic contract to give out in my opinion. There will be an option for him to be able to walk away after a year in sure.
It's the kind of contract you give to someone who's likely to be no good.
-
Dros reporting it as Two years

No, if he does well which leads to him playing x games his contract is automatically extended.
(but yes it does seem a bit of an odd length and those kind of deals are normally for pros at the end of the career as we had a similar contract for Jason Price towards the end of his time here)
-
Thinking back on how many crocks we've had in the past it probably makes sense.

MAIN SIGNS ON A 3 YEAR DEAL
-
We simply can't afford to get stuck with substandard/injury prone players on long term contracts, even if it means losing out on a big payday every now and then.
The risks outweigh the rewards in most cases.
With restricted finances and (more importantly) increased player/agent power, free transfers, one year contracts and the extensive use of loans are the norm in lower league football.
For clubs at this level, 2+ year contracts seem to be reserved for players costing a transfer fee, or for promising future prospects. Of course there will also be players who will demand the extra security a longer contract provides, just as there will always be those unwilling to commit beyond a season.
I think we need to get used to seeing the vast majority of the squad changing every season for the foreseeable future.
-
 why is it not three years, I don't believe these people keep asking the same questions.
I presume there are many factors in it not being a 3 year, that may be the club or player / agent don't want to be tied to 3 years.
The club in negotiations will not always get their own way, even if they want 3 years.
-
I tell you what.... The club is damned if it does and damned if it doesn't in some people's opinion.
Makes total sense does this deal. Two years with an option to extend if it works out.

Now don't you get your pretty little head all confused my love. Go and make us lads a nice cup of tea or coffee. ;)

How about this reason why he hasn't got a 3 year deal..........he's played 23 league games in the last 3 seasons and missed a fair chunk through injury.
Now who was the last player we gave a 3 year deal to? And how many games did he play last season?...............................
