What does that tell us?
-
not enough players to fill the bench?
-
What does that tell us?
Hopefully it's good news, not desperation.
-
That we are keeping hold of the best player in league one!
-
Id be amazed if nobody comes in for him, lets hope hes off the radar :scarf:
-
Make him sign a new deal at halftime before he comes on lol...
-
I'd be disappointed if he stays but obviously behind him if he does. He needs to be committed
-
Think he will be staying now he has beennamed on the bench
-
Get rid, why should we be 2nd best, no loyalty shown from him
-
Let's hope he stays he will make our midfield better, but if he leaves some will be happy because he told the truth which does not suit the agenda.
-
About loyalty - the club permitted the relegation clauses so why question loyalty when the players exercise the clauses?
As for Wellens, if we keep him, great, he's possibly the best in his position in this division...
-
The whole wellens situation is simply disappointing tbh. Yes there was a relegation clause which he has a right to enable. He would have also known his wages would drop if we were relegated, so why moan about them in public when it happened and, at the same time, try and rock the boat by suggesting others will leave and only the younger players would stay? He did that to try and force the clubs hand without regards for the damage he could have done to the team. Very unprofessional.
-
Force the club's hand, what do you mean BJW? He can leave on a free transfer sonothing standing in his way there and I am sure the club wont be basing their transfer policy on what RW says, so I cant see where he can put pressure on anyone?
-
In my opinion, Wellens interview was nothing more than a "come and get me" appeal. The fact that no one has done that probably infers how other clubs saw it or regard him for doing it.
Anyway, hopefully his inclusion in the squad indicates that's all in the past now.

Force the club's hand, what do you mean BJW?
to offer him a new contract with better wages so he didn't leave?
-
Wellens has come on
-
Thus making himself cuptied
-
That's a good sign.
